How does your wife/ GF carry? - XDTalk Forums

Here's the deal, my wife is going to start CCing, but she's not sure how. She thinks she wants to carry IWB on her strong side after reviewing the other options, but she's not 100% sure. How does your wife/ gf carry?

Ankle- She hates the thought of this
Thigh- Not possible
SOB- worried about printing/ easy disarm/ uncomfortable sitting
IWB strong side- the way she's leaning
IWB appendix- possibility, but looking for a larger pistol
OWB- not for everyday
Shoulder- Not possible
Purse- Possible, but doesn't have a secure place to lock purse while at work. Worries about other people having access.

my wife has a lcp she uses the belt clip for it and places it in the middle of her bra

My wife, when she does carry, she carry OWB at 3 then wears a jacket or something over it. I suppose they find out what is the most comfortable for them as most of us have. I've tried several ways with several holsters. On cooler days, I also carry OWB at 3 and in the summer, I carry IWB at 6..

I carry strong side IWB with a crossbreed supertuck that has been modified for my needs. My modifications include:
~cutting the bottom so it is not as long (I am short waist-ed)
~cutting the top in a "combat cut"
~using different clips (just a personal preference).
~attaching a super soft, thick piece of leather on the back which covers teh whole back and replaces the part of the holster that I cut off for the combat cut

The reason I attached the leather to the back is so I don't have the gun poking me or the rough leather against my skin. I get hot easily so I don't want to wear an undershirt. With the rough leather gone in the combat cut, I can draw, pushing the soft flexible leather aside. It is very,very comfortable.

I will not carry in a purse as it is not always on me. Sometimes it is in a shopping cart or hung on a chair or under a table. And the only thing that goes in my bra is my boobs!!!
