Have your wife do some research on the corneredcat.com web site. Kathy Jackson has much good advice to offer women (and men, for that matter) on concealed carry. She also has done some interviews on the ProArms podcast; there are two women-only podcasts they've done so far that are definitely worth a listen. My wife liked them both and found them informative.

My wife carries either and XD9sc IWB strong side in a Crossbreeed Supertuck (we might try out your mods, Wendy!) or pocket carry of an LCP. The latter method has become more prevalent now that she's pregnant and belt-wearing is becoming progressively less comfortable. Off-body carry (with two little ones getting into everything) is NOT an option.

She's looking at the conceal carry t-shirt to allow her to carry either her J-frame or even the XD for on-body carry even through pregnancy. She's tried them on at gunshows and really likes them. We're going to hit another show and see if we can find one that will either fit over the bump or be readily modifiable.

Awww, shucks! You guys are making me blush!

Here is my holster with gun inserted. There are now 3 holes for adjustment due to the shortening. Before I shortened it, it hit my leg funny when I sat and added to my already considerable hips in a strange way. Now it just does that in a normal way! I use the C-tac clips as they add a little more adjustment and grab my belt in a way that I like. I originally used them on my left handed C-tac holster before I switched to right handed shooting and had to shorten them so they wouldn't poke me, that is why they are cut off. (no poking fun at my poking or grabbing, you hear!?!)

Here is the holster without the gun. The white spots below the Kydex are where the gun has worn the leather shiny and the flash hit it. Unfortunately, when I went to the leather store, the only appropriate leather scrap way cream colored and a little stained. I figure no one but myself and my family see it (and now you guys) so who cares if it is ugly. The large amount on top serves to cover the gun so it doesn't dig into me. I have such a large hip to waist ratio that it tends to dig in pretty far, especially when I sit. I had to remove the stiff leather because it made it harder to draw and also would pinch skin between it and the underwire of my bra (how is that for honesty but you DID ask what was good for a woman!)

Here is the back.

Nice mods Wendy! This is good info for my wife if they ever pass concealed carry legislation. My wife (who is also quite wonderful through the hips!) might face some of the same challenges.

So, are you left-handed, but have switched to shooting righty? How could you turncoat on us superior-handed ones, like that?! LOL!

Oh, and I bet your husband has fun with the grabbing and poking...

Sorry! Couldn't resist!

I am right handed and left eyed dom so I learned to shoot left handed for a year when I first started shooting because I was using my competition Xd with F/O sights. It just seemed to work better. When I changed to my open gun with a Cmore, I switched to right handed shooting since the optic makes dom eye issues less problematic. I do not want to switch back and forth so I swapped my carry gun as well.

And my husband loves to frisk me whenever we go out so I would hate to have poking and prodding issues...I also think if I carried in my bra, we would never get out the door!

I notice alot of people choose the purse.. My girl has been talking about having a gun for herself and we've discussed this option a few times.
Though it seems easy and she told me she will always be with her purse, anyone out there freaked out by a gun in the purse because of purse snatchers? Like the ones who run up from behind and are gone before you knew wtf happened. I'd hate for one of those douchebags to get a gun.

~using different clips (just a personal preference).
~attaching a super soft, thick piece of leather on the back which covers teh whole back and replaces the part of the holster that I cut off for the combat cut

The reason I attached the leather to the back is so I don't have the gun poking me or the rough leather against my skin. I get hot easily so I don't want to wear an undershirt. With the rough leather gone in the combat cut, I can draw, pushing the soft flexible leather aside. It is very, very comfortable.

I will not carry in a purse as it is not always on me. Sometimes it is in a shopping cart or hung on a chair or under a table. And the only thing that goes in my bra is my boobs!!!
The ladies have to deal with a different set of physics. My fiance had to use an "off-set' holster because of her hips.
