Fedex or UPS?

Between the two, which carrier do you prefer? Fedex or UPS?

FedEx... Non-union. Plus they let me ship my 1911 to an FFL across the country without sending it next day air which saved me a bunch of money.

FedEx for overnight, UPS for other (ground) seems to work best here.

FedEx, but I rarely use them because they're more expensive.

But:
*Get packages early or early in the morning the day they are due. With UPS, almost always very late in the afternoon, often at 6:59 PM.
* Packages are consistently banged and ripped up with UPS. UPS has a history among those who ship things regularly or buy things online of being extra rough with their packages. In my experience, I agree. FedEx often ships things in great shape.
* The only place where UPS wins is their drivers. They are always consistently more friendly than the FedEx guys. Not that the FedEx guys are jerks or mean, just that they're like machines who don't say a word or smile or anything.

Personally, I don't really care. I'd rather get my pacakge in the morning and undamaged... which only FedEx can do. It also seems like UPS pushes and is much more demanding of its drivers than FedEx are, resulting in very stressed out looking UPS guys... of course, that's not a complaint per se from me, since it doesn't affect me and is out of my control, just something I've noticed over the years.

FedEx. Last two times a seller shipped me something via UPS, they dropped it off at an address where my mother lived, until about two years ago. I never lived there, yet they think I do. Further, my mother and I don't even have the same last name any more! When I called UPS, they said I would have to contact the shipper and have them correct the mistake. That way, they can charge them ten bucks for an intercept.

Plus, the FedEx guy likes to talk guns.

Either is better than the USPS. I ordered some bullets and they arrived at 1627 instead of 1527. I had a tracking number that said it was delivered so I went to the post office. They said they would call me back Saturday. Im still waiting for that phone call. Fortunately the guy at 1627 is a customer of mine and he hand delivered them to me. . A couple weeks ago they lost a set of dies I bought and it took 2 weeks for them to get here. I wish I could do more about it than just complain on an internet forum.

Ship a several packages per week. I stopped using Fed Ex as they broke more packages than they delivered. I would much rather use the USPS.
