Do you have a bug out bag? If so, maybe you could offer some suggestions - like which bag (e.g., Bagmaster Pro Gear Bag)? Contents? etc?
Admittedly, I don't. I have supplies in the house, but have not organized a bug out bag. I personally think it's a good idea. I just need to get off my arse and make one.

Good post, I've been thinking about this for awhile. Thanks for prompting me to get off my ass and get it done.
I voted "no". But I guess if the SHTF, I'd throw something together quick. As it is, I have all my guns in a day pack with the shootin' stuff like "eyes" and "ears", some tools, and at least a box of each size ammo, and I have a case filled with boxes of ammo (one of those lockable hard plastic boxes with foam they sell for airsoft guns). Holds and has a thousand rounds easily (Plus I have a brick of .22s I don't really count).
There's still enough room in the day-pack for a toothbrush, a clean pair of boxers, a gross of condoms, and my golf clubs are always in my trunk, so what else would I need? (Besides a full tank of gas)?
I have one bag ready to roll I also have a tactical vest with mags and all the accesories loaded on it just have to add the guns to it the vest is mainly if the poop hits the fan at home ... I no it sounds like a radical thing but I used to have a drug dealer living two doors down He is now back in Jail so it is all quite on the home front again......
I live out in a pretty rural part of Maine on a 6 acre lot and we have a one-year old son. These two facts combined have convinced me that we'd face better odds riding "it" out from home. I carry a 1911 in the truck along with a day pack, first aid supplies, flashlights, and water to allow me to fight my way home if the shtf while I'm at work or traveling.

It doesn't sound radical, just sounds like a person trying to be well prepared. Every time I start this project, I get hung up in details. I start listing stuff I think I'd need for a family of 4 and the bug-out "bag" seems to turn into a bug-out "trailer". I thought about simply packing 2 duffle bags - but that seems excessive and seems to defeat the purpose of a fast departure and minimal supplies for 3 days.
Hopefully some of you that have already thought these things out can share the details.
haven't bought one from them, but they look nice. i thought that's also who carried the tactical waist pack that some have referred to as a man-purse, but couldn't find it just now...

I was reading a very good article, which I cant find now, but I want to start listing and preparing items for a bug out bag. Like jdavionic, though I have a wife and two children so it gets a little more technical then just grabbing a gun, ammo, water and some drawls.
I've also been thinking about stockpiling food, water and supplies in case of famine and stuff like that.

Looking to purchase the following firearms:
Remington 11-87 Premier 28" barrel, Mossberg 12 and 20ga pumps with short barrel, Kimber Custom II in .45ACP, HK USP9C, and Stag Model 1 AR.
I didn't specifically prepare a bug out bag but when I think about it my range box fits the role. I have a plastic ammo can from Bass Pro and it contains several hundred rounds of ammo, my cleaning supplies, eyes and ears, and extra magazines. I also have a small duffel bag full of MRE's and some survival gear like a hatchet, matches, a knife, a poncho and a survival blanket.
I have my ammo supplies right next to my range bag in two cardboard boxes I could either grab several hundred more rounds and stuff them into my range bag or I could take the two ammo boxes with me if I had time. I have everything for my 10/22 in another two cardboard boxes. It's the only other gun I own besides my XD9 Service, and in a survival situation it beats not having a rifle at all. I have 100 rounds of Gold Dot hollow points and a couple thousand other rounds for it. All I have is boxed up for transport and storage and can be easily accessed and moved to a vehicle within minutes.
I doubt this will ever be needed, but it gives me peace of mind to know that my guns, ammo, and food are ready to go within minutes. Water is something I need to prepare. If you think about it, your range bag makes a good starting point so most of you are probably more prepared than you think.
