Confused over an half an inch
I'm looking to get my first Sig Sauer.
I've narrowed it down to the P220 .45 Bi-Tone.....
...but now I can't decide on the Full Size or Carry.
The Grip and Frames are the same, so the only real difference is the Barrel and Overall length.
Carry: 3.90 inch barrel (7.1 OAL)
Full Size: 4.40 inch barrel (7.7 OAL)
Whaddya Think???
After I get the pistol, I would like to get the Trigger and Controls Nickle Plated like this:
Anybody got pics of their P220, or advice about SIG pistols in general??
.

my friend has the all stainless p220 in 45 and its a awesome gun. but your limited to 8 rounds i believe where the xd45 holds 13. plus the grip size feel the same and maybe even a little better on the xd45
so the xd is.....
cheaper
holds more rounds
lighter
better feel (this one is subjective)

I like to splurge every now and then...Hey, I think I'm worth it!

I can only have 10 rounders here in Ca. anyway's.
lighter
Not gonna actually carry it, plus I like a gun to have a little "heft" to it.
better feel (this one is subjective)
Not better, just different.

Thanks.....
But back to my question: Full Size or Carry?

I don't know jack about Sigs. That being said, if it's going to be a carry gun, I would go with the Carry. The difference in muzzle velocity and accuracy should be negligible, and that .6 inches in OAL will make a slight difference in carry comfort.
I have a bed frame mount that's screaming for a gun to hold, and I've been thinking about a Sig Certified Pre-Owned. I've seen some pretty good deals on them. Our PD just dumped all their Sigs, and I could have got one for $300, but they were all .40's, which I really don't want.
ETA: I got interrupted in the middle of writing this, and after posting it saw that you aren't going to carrry it. In that case I would just handle both and buy what feels best to you.

Well Yup,
Since you can't carry (CALI), I'd go for the full size.
If for some reason you can carry it, go for the carry.
Longer barrel, better accuracy.
But accuracy won't be a problem with either being a Sig..
I've had my P229 SAS since last year, love it.
A month later bought a P239 SAS, it is now my EDC.
Just recently bought a P226 Navy, all my Sigs are 9mm.
I sold all 4 of my XDs to buy the Sigs above..
Bought my 1st Sig in 1994, long story.
The best place to get your controls done would be CCR.
CCR-REFINISHING
Brad is very well known on Sigforum.
He refinished 2 of my Sigs..
P239 SAS before CCR..
After..
P229 SAS before..
After CCR.............
The newest addition to the family.
Mainly an HD/range gun, but fits nicely in the Miami Classic above..
Be forewarned my Brother..
Sigs are much like tattoos;
You get one, and you will want another, and another, and another............

But the XD trigger stinks compared to a Sig trigger, DA/SA or DAK, I have both.
Although the XD feels better than a Glock in my hand,
A Sig pistol has the most natural feel of any handgun I've ever handled.
And I've handled a few....
Also the XD is an XD.
A Sig is a SIG.
There really is no comparison between the two.....

What a coincidence! I have been having the same problem these past few weeks. I'm almost certain that I'm going to go with a SIG Carry though. Let me know what you eventually buy and I will do likewise.
