At how man rounds do you consider your stock of ammo to be "running low"

This is a discussion on At how man rounds do you consider your stock of ammo to be "running low" within the The Polling Place forums, part of the Use and Training category; I like to have at least 1000 rounds of each caliber. It is getting a little difficult to maintain stock nowadays though....

But that low would mean I have to get my butt busy reloading. Starting the spring below 400 in 243 and 25/06 would be low because a prairie dog trip can pop up whenever. So, it kinda varies with me.

Same here, although the 12 gauge only needs about about 300-400.
