No offense but I run into arguments like this a lot. But frankly its flawed thinking. If someone tries to run you down in a car you have just as much right to defend yourself as a non leo as I do as a LEO. Is it likely that you will have that happen no. But then again its not likely you will need a gun at all.

Same goes for shooting people at distance. I have heard people say I don't think you could justify shooting someone at X range (25 yards, 50 yards 100 yards what ever). That is also false. If they are placing your life in danger you can defend yourself period. If someone shoots at me from 100 yards away I am sure as hell going to shoot back.

I say this because, unlike you as an LEO, I am not "on the street", the only time this might happen would be in a parking lot somewhere.

I understand and I am not attacking you I am just saying if you were in the situation you have the same right to self defense that I do. The reality is neither of us is likely to have to fire our weapon. Thank God for that too.
