I'm now looking into
Hornady 9MM LUGER 115 GR FTX CRITICAL DEFENSE
They are supposed to penetrate clothing well and expand consistently.

I hope you're not shooting at someone with your pistol at 50 yards.

After doing more research and looking at expanding rounds in the HST's and a few other top performers I've concluded that the 124gr and 147gr are about equal in expansion however the 147gr penetrates deeper as expected. I think for self defense the 124gr give the best expansion and a lesser chance of over pentration.
Now if I was a police officer I'd go 147gr for the barrier pentration....but I'm not a Cop so my main concern is expansion and adequate pentration without OVER penetration.

I havent crried a 9mm in quie sometime but Im about to start carrying my P6 and it will be loaded with 124 +P DoldDots.
Its good middle ground with penetration and energy.

Data at StoppingPower.net test doesn't follow IWBA or FBI protocol. No mention of gel calibration and temp. The way the expanded diameter is measured is incorrect. There should have been a 5 shot series. Looks like the round expanded once and acted like a FMJ with no expansion the other time. If the temp of the gel is too high, you will get over penetration when testing. With out mention of calibration there's no way of knowing what the actual penetration really is. It shows that 50% of the time the round did not expand in this test.
The "Stopping Power" is not anything I would consider scientific testing. More like M&S number games to me.
I have shot with some BP guys and I know they the are given this to practice but I never asked if it is what they carried.
Good luck with your choice.
