Referendums (essentially an election for a single seat) cost money, which the state doesn't have to spend... they'd rather impeach Blagojevich and get the Lieutenant Governor (Pat Quinn) to appoint The Annointed One's successor. Plus, in Illinois, the seat appointment has to be filled by a member of the same political party.

Well appearantly, the race card is still valid. One of the complaints that Buriss was not seated was solely because he is black.

Lets see. Black Senator holds the seat. Black man elected to President. Dems love to play diversity. Il is far left with large black population......

Ya, obviously it is because he is black

Burris is, in fact, a decent person, dare I say, a decent politician from Illinois. It is very disturbing that he would accept anything that Blago had to offer. He is and will remain tainted from all of this.... circus. The political circus from Illinois is now taking up camp in the white house... can't ya tell from all the wonderful pics the chosen one is making?
Panetta leading the CIA??? Where in hell...? What the...?
Get used to it folks... those of us condemned to this gulag of a state have warned you previously... You have seen nothing until you've seen the politics of Illinois.
