Of course, if we want to continue getting fat and paying outrageous medical costs because we're eating treated food, then I guess we can then spread the cost around to everyone through national healthcare.
we can thank our glorious govt. for the cost of meat. the base of their feed (corn) has skyrocketed in the past 2 years because of that failure called ethanol.

Ethanol by itself is a crap source of energy, the biodiesel project is much more worthwhile. Ethanol worth a 5x increase in feed costs?

.... not to the struggling livestock industry.
And the point is that free-range, grass fed meat is of a lower grade, not a matter of what you're used to eating.

Cows shouldn't eat corn and neither should cats. Have you ever noticed what's in cat food? Cats don't eat grain!!

Trying to eat a diet as close as possible to our biological hunter/gatherer ancestors is more healthy.

i don't eat cat, nor by it by the pound to grill. Regardless of what they should eat, Corn is what they are fed. obviously the farmers know something we don't.

Actually, deer are selective browsers, meaning they eat usually the starchy, high-calorie pecans, nuts, berries, etc. They typically do not eat grass.

Another good thing about hunters is that they typically are more knowledgeable and have a much more vested interest in sound ecological management.

Why is grass-fed cattle supposed to be a lower grade of meat?

Humans eat nuts and berries too, and it's very healthy for us.

Because forage is a lower-grade feedstuff, and probably won't promote the formation of intramuscular fat that gives meat its flavor.

Were we talking about humans? Most healthy humans don't make it the cornerstone of our diet, either.

Sorry for the double post, couldn't figure this edit thing out.
