Thats Bigun with one G No thanks on the trip to Washington, I'd probably be as well thought of there as I am here with our liberal friends.

A price increase by a retailer is justified if his supplier raises their price. If the item is already "in stock" and the retailer raises the price by 50% just because he can, it's gouging, plain and simple. In any case, I'm good to go except for a few mag purchases. I noticed that Pistol-Gear and Cheaper Than Dirt still have mags at everyday low prices.

I'll try to keep your business philosophy in mind the next time a hurricane hits and plywood goes to 75 bucks a sheet.

It's pure price gouging. As of Wednesday there won't be an dramatic increase in demand. That demand increase should have happened before the election on the fears that The One winning would cause prices to go up.
The supply issue as a cause for raising prices is horse crap. The demand has outstripped the "limited" supply for over a year now and prices haven't gone up THAT much. If there is such a demand for the product, why not ramp up production and get more units out the door. More units at an equal end cost = more profit. more units at a lower margin still = more profits.

According to the local SHEELS they have way more going out than coming in, that leads to price increases, when demand outpaces supply, when it's the other way around prices fall.

Bottom Line: In a free market, if the demand is high enough to support the increase in price, I see no problem with it.

In my personal life, I'm done screaming about price gouging (in general). They wouldn't be charging that much if people weren't willingly paying it.

When the dumocraps 'banned' assault rifles the first time, a local gun store went into full 'abuse the customer' mode, charging three times the price for some guns.

Later, after it calmed down, they went out of business because people felt abused and refused to shop there.

This will happen again.

Greed Kills.

It very well may. One of the caveats of a free market is the possibility of failure. If you feel that you're being gouged, don't shop there. They cannot sell to anyone who isn't willing to pay the prices that they have on their merchandise. If enough people are unwilling to pay the price, the price goes down.
