Here in Western WA State, ARs are selling like hot cakes.

Look around for the high cap mags for your XD -- suddenly there are spot shortages.

5.56 ammo? Be prepared to pay way too much for ammo you've never heard of.

My stepson called in a mild panic 2 days ago, saying he needs an AR now before The Messiah bans them. I researched it, directed him to a new M4 on Gunbroker, he bought it 3 minutes later.

Golly I wonder why.

mongoose33, is Wisconsin still know as the Welfare State? When I lived in Illinois, people were moving to Wisconsin to take advantage of the lower welfare standards and higher pay-outs. If this is still the case, then that could explain the Obama support, as this is the only group that will benefit from the Obama-nation.

I'd believe it. As stated in another thread, when I called the local gun shop to inquire about a lower receive, their supplier had sold out of their supply of 800 DPMS complete lowers (over 250 in the last two days), and the suppliers had sold 300 stripped Double Star lowers today and expected to sell the rest of their supply by the end of the day. Thankfully I got a stripped lower and will be picking it up Tuesday, so it'll be interesting to see how much more goes by then.

That's long gone. There are stories from those days of welfare recipients driving up to Wisconsin from Illinois in their Cadillacs to pick up their checks. Mostly that wasn't what happened, but there were cases similar to that.

Today, nope. And where I live--southwestern Wisconsin--you have very, very little of that. It's not a liberal area, generally. It's a small-town rural environment. While the university here has always created the usual college-student excitement at a presidential election (remember that for virtually all of them, this is their first chance to vote for president), this year there's more enthusiasm outside of the campus environment.

I still can't believe those hay bales.

Thumbs up Gun Sales!

We just had a Gun Show this past weekend, I was there BOTH days. I am telling you, people were buying AR-15s, AK-47s, High Capacity Handguns, Hi-Cap Magazines, Ammo, you name it, buying them like they weren't going to make any more. Background checks were all delayed ( 2+ hours) due the the shear VOLUME of Gun Sales. I have several friends that are Dealers, thay all said it was their BEST weekend in Sales since they can remember. I saw all this with my own eyes. In my opinion, yes, it's an indicator that MANY people will NOT be voting Obama. Why would an Obama supporter buy a Gun? Epecially an AR, or an AK?

I was at an Ohio gun show last sunday.

Bought a complete AR lower (DPMS/$242 out the door) and 1,000 rounds of .223 ($360). Just about the normal going price around here. It will be interesting to see what the same items go for after Nov. 4th if "The Second Coming of Christ" is elected.

Saw lots and lots of AR lowers and uppers. Didn't really see and panic buying though.

Except for one guy. He had a dolly loaded with ammo and was taking it to his truck. And no, he was NOT a dealer.

Edited to add: There was a large amount of sales for guns and such but I don't believe it was anywhere near panic buying.

It isn't just a fear of Obama being President, it is a fear of the terrible trio of Obama, Biden, and Pelosi, along with a Democrat controlled Congress that puts fear into people who have any sense. Obama supporters are just lost sheep as far as I'm concerned.
