Spreading the wealth? US already does it
Quote:
Spreading the wealth? US already does it - Yahoo! News Maybe I'm too trusting of Obama and actually have drunk the Kool-aid, but I believe Obama and his team will improve the economy. I'm just worried that Congress, even a Democratic one, will totally botch the job. I REALLY wish they could get rid of Reid and Pelosi from the leadership. |

The economy for the most part is cyclical. Administrations are either praised or demonized because of it. I don't believe that an incoming Democratic administration will have a magic pill.

I'm ready for Obama ... Let the invaders arrive!!
I'll defend the country, but I'm not so sure about our present form of government and a few of the elected officials

This is a pretty poor arguement. Do you really think that poor peoples SSI buy-in is being given to rich people? Because one method is less favorable than the other it must be right or wrong? Stupidity gone wild. SSI is intended as insurance and it's benefits are largely phased out for the wealthy. Just becuase it is less favorable to the poor doesn't make it fair or unfair. It's just covering up the smell of the BS.

Quoting Etta's post... the number of Americans on welfare fell by more than 60 percent after a 1996 overhaul of the program approved by President Clinton.
How exactly did this happen? A 60% drop? Really? So where did all these people go for there food stamps? Did 60% more poor people go unfed at night? I seem to remember old Billy boy saying that he'd get people off of welfare by giving them jobs... that's right! Govment jobs.... excellent idea. another quote... McCain accused Obama of "class warfare." But McCain is the perpetrator, argue Democrats, who contend he is trying to fuel middle-class resentment toward poorer people with inflammatory words like "socialism" and phrases reminiscent of Ronald Reagan's attacks on "welfare queens." And why the hell do you think McCain is perpetrating middle class resentment? The middle class doesn't need fuel to feel resentment. They see it when they are driving their tired asses to work everyday only to see "people" drinking 40's sitting on milk crates because their lazy asses don't want to get a job from the man. They see it on the news every night when "children" of welfare mom's shoot each other over drug turf. We don't need any reminder... it's staring at me everyday. At least that's what I see in Chicago... Obama territory, ya know. Highest tax rate, worst public schools in the nation, more murders than a higher populated New York and LA... how's that working out for ya, Obama worshipers?
