Best interview of Joe Biden ever

Best interview of Joe Biden ever
By Michelle Malkin • October 25, 2008 11:53 AM

Biden to Barbara West: “Are you joking?”
WFTV Channel 9’s Barbara West puts increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden on the hot seat over ACORN, voter fraud, and Barack Obama’s “Spread the wealth” comments.

The result?
Best interview of Joe Biden ever. (to video)

The increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Biden was so upset that the campaign canceled an interview West’s station had scheduled with his wife, Jill. The Orlando Sentinel reports:
Why did Barack Obama’s campaign cancel a WFTV-Channel 9 interview with Jill Biden, wife of Sen. Joe Biden? The campaign cited “an unprofessional interview” WFTV’s Barbara West did Thursday with Joe Biden. In a statement Friday, Adrianne Marsh, Florida spokeswoman for Obama’s campaign, said the station, in talking with Sen. Biden, was “both combative and woefully uninformed about simple facts.” Marsh said West’s insistence that Obama was an organizer for ACORN was “100 percent false.” “In a line of questioning that would make Rush Limbaugh proud, West even went as far as to quote Karl Marx, a Communist icon, in a disturbing attempt to associate Barack Obama with socialism,” Marsh wrote. West said, “I think I asked him some pointed questions. . . . I don’t think I was rude or inconsiderate to him.”
She was completely professional and gracious.

But remember: Anything less than total sycophancy from the Obamedia is considered “combative.”

Keep Barbara West in your thoughts and prayers. She can expect the Joe the Plumber treatment any minute now.

I can only hope more news outlets grow some balls and ask questions like this before the election

typical politician double speak...

Biden said they didn't give them any money to "go out and collect signatures and register people."

Which i'm sure is true. The Obama/Biden campaign wasn't directly paying ACORN employees to register people to vote.

Biden did NOT say they had never given them any money.

Completely awesome!

Watch it and download because I'm willing to bet that this video won't be up in a week.
YouTube - Biden Angered By Tough Questions

I saved a copy and can give you one if you need it (if it's taken down).

And the followup story for asking questions that they don't like.
Orlando Sentinel - Obama campaign cuts off WFTV after interview with Joe Biden by Hal Boedeker

Obama campaign cuts off WFTV after interview with Joe Biden

WFTV-Channel 9's Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden on Thursday. A friend says it's some of the best entertainment he's seen recently. What do you think?

West wondered about Sen. Barack Obama's comment, to Joe the Plumber, about spreading the wealth. She quoted Karl Marx and asked how Obama isn't being a Marxist with the "spreading the wealth" comment.

"Are you joking?" said Biden, who is Obama's running mate. "No," West said.

West later asked Biden about his comments that Obama could be tested early on as president. She wondered if the Delaware senator was saying America's days as the world's leading power were over.

"I don't know who's writing your questions," Biden shot back.

Biden so disliked West's line of questioning that the Obama campaign canceled a WFTV interview with Jill Biden, the candidate's wife.

"This cancellation is non-negotiable, and further opportunities for your station to interview with this campaign are unlikely, at best for the duration of the remaining days until the election," wrote Laura K. McGinnis, Central Florida communications director for the Obama campaign.

McGinnis said the Biden cancellation was "a result of her husband's experience yesterday during the satellite interview with Barbara West."

Here's a link to the interview: Video.

WFTV news director Bob Jordan said, "When you get a shot to ask these candidates, you want to make the most of it. They usually give you five minutes."

Jordan said political campaigns in general pick and choose the stations they like. And stations often pose softball questions during the satellite interviews.

"Mr. Biden didn't like the questions," Jordan said. "We choose not to ask softball questions."

Jordan added, "I'm crying foul on this one."

What did you think of the interview?

His last remark in response to her question of what do you say to those who are worried Obama will turn this country into a socialistic one like Sweden, was (paraphrased)"I don't know anyone like that, except the far right wing of the Republican party."

Well, I am a former long time conservative Democrat (31yrs.) who has been an Independent for the last 6yrs. who believes that is exactly what Obama will do and he scares the heck out of me. Perhaps Biden just doesn't get around enough or listen very well.

The Obama campaign paid an affiliate of ACORN $832,000 during the primaries to do voter outreach in certain key states like Ohio and Texas.

I don't know why the Obama campaign is getting all huffy. Biden was able to answer her questions. She wasn't rude. Her questions ARE on the minds of some voters. I would say though that her questions displayed a definite bias. They were not neutral questions. It was as though she had already formed her opinion and was just going through the motions of asking these questions in order to make her points.

Video is down on their site and can't watch utube at work.

$800,000+ is a lot of cash to spend for some voter registration work in a couple of states.... hmmm

And when a presidential candidate makes a statement about "spreading the wealth around"... what kind of questions do you expect someone concerned with that type of policy to ask? Biased? No... just honest. He said it now no one can question it?

Give me a freakin break.
