...????

Show me a crime that was comited not pictures of the side effects of a legitimate and necessary action to preserve freedom and the way of life for not only our country but a large portion of the world.

It is tragic and it takes my breath away to even think of the destruction those bombs caused but it HAD to be done to save lives.

It all comes down to the cliched "greater good"
kill one to save a thousand type of thing...just on a much larger scale.

Oh...now I'm emotional?

I thought this had more to do with a moral obligation to show people like him, who are trying to find a convenient excuse for these attrocities, the pictures.

And you know what they say "One picture speaks 1000 words" or something like that.

Looks like I'm a minority here, of course, patriosm will justify anything and this is exactly what's happening right here. I may be "lefty" but I would never hide behind my flag to defend a war crime.

What I got was nonsense. Tell me the statute that the U.S. violated. Tell me exactly what crime was committed. What was the law that was broke.

War is war. Is it any better for a soldier to be dead. Each person regardless of standing is dead. Japan made it very clear that the NATION of Japan declared war on the U.S. then you want me to feel bad because they lost??? Give me a break.

They were the aggressors on us. They were the aggressors to the Chinese. The Emperors actions are directly responsible for the civilian death he caused by waging war. Period. Don't start none, won't be none.

You wage war, then want the international community to feel bad for you for loosing. The ultimate liberal statement. Always trying to push off personal responsibility onto others. Always playing the victim card. Text book breadfan.

I'm still waiting for my answer oh great international lawyer.

Posting the pictures is an emotional response. The reality of the time has it's own context. Talk to the men who fought in that war. Armchair criticism half a century after the fact, is not worth the discussion.

stop kidding yourself. You would not be free if it was not for the USA. wE DID NOT directly save you, but you would have inevitably fell to the germans had it not been for us. The fact that you ignore this, or cant see this shows any half decent impartial person what a pompous fool you are. Your country is a crap hole, your pride in it is undue, your contempt for the USA is unnecessary, and you give us no credit. You couldnt have defeated italy on you best day by yourself, you were bound to be slaves to the germans the rest of your countries days, if not for us. You got allot of nerve, you take VERY odd interpretations of history, ignore fact etc. Your a classic foolish liberal.

why dont you englighen us how your piss ant country would have defended itself had we not defeated the germans for you ? Right now i am imagining all of europe on a map called "new germany", with a terrible little country remaining free cause of great folks like yourself? Give me a fricking break.

you know what get out of the politcal forum and go check yourself into a mental hospital cause your crazy.

I don't care about "men who fought in that war". I don't need their oppinion to decide if nuking two cities was a war crime or not. That's something you don't really go around and look for an advice. You can tell something is evil and wrong by your own instincts.

Breadfan, I must say, you and your logic is plain stupid. Why not criticize Japan for attacking us? Why not try them in war tribunals?

I think you need to grow up and learn the harsh realities of life....war happens, collateral damage happens, people die, buildings are destroyed. Get over it...it's life. Had it been your country that bombed the U.S. at pearl harbor we would have done the same, had it been Canada...same outcome.

Certain things don't require a tribunal on war crime, they require immediate action to be taken...and this was one of them.
