His walk does not match his talk and he can say whatever he wants--it won't matter, he's proven himself a complete phony when it comes to that statement.

Why do you continue to believe everything he says even though it is directly contradicted in a lot of cases by his actions? Why do you continue to believe he will do things "differently" once he's President than he did when he was a Senator and candidate? Why do you continue to take what he says at face value?

I'm not sure if anybody else caught this during the VP debates, but Smokin Joe Biden made an interesting comment (I'm paraphrasing, go watch the debate if you want exact transcript) " I've been in congress thirty (whatever) years, I"m not going to change now!"

And he's on the ticket promoting "Change"

Yeah, in fact, he said that mere seconds after pumping his verbal fist for "change." Honestly, I can't believe what that guy gets away with saying. Incidentally, he was the first (in the VP debate) to call for renegotiating the principal of mortgages in default (which I also find ridiculous).

Buy his book "The Revolution: A Manifesto" and READ IT! It's only like $12 on Amazon.com. If you can't be bothered to read his book and keep spouting stuff that is completely opposite of what he says, you just make yourself look foolish when you continue to insist you support his beliefs.

You can even send it back (heck I'd like to read it).
Well, it's evening again and Etta has emerged from her daytime hideout.

Gonna dodge this one again or are you going to respond? I don't see how you can say you supported Ron Paul if you haven't read his book to see what he stands for. I don't see how you can support someone like Obama after reading the book. What are you going to do?

Well, I had high hopes for Etta. At this point, though, I don't believe she ever truly supported Ron Paul. If she did, she had no idea what he stood for and just got caught up in the hype (all the cool kids were doing it).

Heh, the other day I was speaking to someone who claimed to support both Ron Paul and Ralph Nader. I commented that I had a hard time imagining two candidates more polarly opposed. The lady said she didn't understand what I meant, she just liked someone who would challenge the status quo.

I guess it doesn't matter what we get, as long as it isn't Bush, right?

Or as long as it is wrapped in a promise for "change".

First of all, I normally don't come on this site during the day because I don't want to be on the Internet while I'm at work. The only time I can respond is after I get home. And, even then, I'm trying to make dinner, take care of my cat and do other stuff. So, I don't have time to read all of the responses and reply to questions.

Very good summary.

I mainly supported Ron Paul because of his opposition to foreign military intervention.

I believe he is right on many of his economic views. I just am conflicted on government's role in domestic matters. I believe in a much smaller government. I just don't think it's going to happen. And, I see a role for government investment in things like infrastructure and education - mainly because I think it will improve our quality of life and increase our global competitiveness.

Look what happened both times---massive recovery!

I don't remember it quite that way.
