But, no, he's not--but as an advocate of libertarian policies and letting the free market work (as well as featuring real, intelligent economists who agree with this point of view), he's a damn sight closer to fixing our problems than Captain Socialist and his Ministry of Pacifying Platitudes.

I think the "free market" is a myth in the United States and has been from Day One. Government has always supported business.

Government has tolerated private business and encouraged it only as far as it recognizes the need for a tax base beyond personal income tax, and people need to have said incomes before they can be taxed. Government sees business as only the source of its revenue--nothing more. Government is incapable of generating wealth--it only confiscates it and redistributes it. We have one of the highest business-tax environments on the planet--why do you think we have so much outsourcing? (Hint: labor costs are a small part of the equation.) True government support of business is not taxing them and then redistributing that revenue to businesses to "help" as they see fit, but simply staying out of the way in the first place and allowing business to use their revenues for more capital expansion and to hire more employees.

I'm genuinely confused by people that believe that having money make an intermediate trip to Washington before used elsewhere is a good thing.

I don't recall reading about how when Michelle Obama was ordering lobster, she was sharing it with any homeless people.

The Democratic elites want to redistribute OUR wealth. Their wealth, of course, is off limits.
