I know you didn't read the book. Hell, you said you wouldn't even listen to Randi Rhodes which takes zero effort or expense. But why not at least read the reviews or a synopsis that tells you what the book is about (and from what perspective)?

Funny thing is, despite not being his style at all (in fact he's pretty much told us how proud he is to be a "non-reader"), I had read recently that GWB had picked up a book (whether he actually went so far as to have opened it or not I don't know) that is about the French fighting the "insurgents" in Algeria (A SAVAGE WAR OF PEACE Algeria 1954-1962 - By Alistair Horne).Supposedly recommended to him by Kissinger

Too bad he decided to wait until now to read it (if he actually did). Wouldn't it have made a whole lot more sense to read about the efforts to fight a war in the desert against Islamic insurgents BEFORE going into Iraq?

YeahYeah....I know you know what the word "preemtive" means. So why would you NOT want Obama (or McCain) reading a book about a potential shift in economic and/or political power BEFORE it's become history?

Let me guess....this is a way to spin someone the way Rush Limbaugh has told you to. Only question is did Rush make any specific references to this? I could be wrong....maybe it had nothing to do with Limbaugh, maybe it was someone else. But it had to be someone....right?

Certainly you did not take the photograph yourself, and it's a sure bet you didn't happen to find it going through dust covered archives of obscure photographs. So who told you where to look and more importantly, who told you what to think about this?

C'mon yeahYeah..."inquiring minds want to know"!!! LOL How about being a little forthcoming? You start all these threads, don't we deserve to know where your "originality" begins? Just once in a while????

Peace,
D.

Delija -

considering the people/groups who have endorsed this man and the people this man has or does hang around with, myself and other Americans would find the messiuh reading a book like that to be quite frightening.

If Farrakhan, Hamas, the communist party of America, jackson and sharpton had not endorsed this man and if he had not studied under the likes of Alinsky and Ayers, i may not question it at all.

Actually, Zakaria is a pretty interesting fellow to listen to. He has a show on CNN.

Yeah, that's the thing....you don't need to agree with someone to find them interesting or to learn from them. You just need to be a bit open minded......

Generally speaking, learning and agreeing have very little to do with each other.

Heck, I don't agree with a lot of what "yeahYeah" has to say. I do agree with some, but probably disagree more. This in no way affects the reality that I can learn from him.

In his last post, he says that Obama has "studied under Ayers". Now this is something I didn't know, so I learned something. Just because what I learned isn't true (in this particular case) doesn't mean I was not given the opportunity to believe what I was told.

As for a politician being "endorsed" by nefarious sorts such as Hamas and Farrakhan and the "Communist Party of America"....assuming that's true - and I really don't know...nor do I consider it to matter - I've mentioned before that politicians are OFTEN embarrassed by some of their backers,

Can there be any doubt that this is the case? It obviously goes even deeper. YeahYeah brought up Jackson and Schumer. Is it better to have the endorsement of the people whose names I have blocked out of my memory, but who have even recently been arrested for soliciting sex in men's restrooms, etc.? Who can control what degenerates decide to vote for whom? If Charles Manson endorses McCain, is that any reflection on McCain? (And certainly if Manson had the right to vote and had a preference between McCain and Obama - knowing what we (who are old enough to know Manson's history) know, certainly it would be quite apparent that in such a hypothetical situation, Manson would "endorse" the "white guy"....for no other reason than he's white.

Live and learn. It's part of life. Only time people stop learning is when the are dead. Or brain dead.....which in 99.999999% of the cases means in a vegatative coma. That other 00.0000001% of the time, it's due to spending all of one's time on Internet chatboards. LOL

Agreed ... very smart and insighful fellow. It's pretty obvious yeah yeah got the idea to bash Obama's reading of this book from somewhere other than the dusty confines of his own cranial vault. Zakaria is always worth the time to listen or read.
