I hate this nonsense. If someone borrowed more than they can pay back, oh well... you took a chance and lost. The bank that took a chance on you lost. Those that invested in the bank that took a chance on you lost... and now the taxpayers lose because the government says so???? Spend the 700b on debtor's prisons. Thats something I would love to bring back.

No I don't .... But I did not mean to imply that they should be let go.
It was a sarcastic statement that would place undue burden upon the economy to jail these people .... Thus the suggestion that they be treated as horse thieves.
