If this is true this really sucks

Talk about a shock to the system. Has anyone bothered to notice the radical changes that John McCain and Sarah Palin are planning for the nation's health insurance system?

These are changes that will set in motion nothing less than the dismantling of the employer-based coverage that protects most American families.

personally, i got a hard time believing this just due to the source and it's treatment towards McCain and Palin over the past few weeks.

Are you serious? I guess there's almost no difference because my prices keep going up and my coverage keeps going down, but WTF??!!

Jumping through hoops ... I arrived at your article.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/16/op...=1&oref=slogin

I'll wait for analysis from something better than an op-ed piece from the NY Times, Thank you.

They elaborate and add to much bias.

One can tell from 1) the publisher of the article and 2) the tone of the article that this was meant to be a hit job.

I'm with AZ, I'll wait for somebody that actually understands the full impact of his total plan to break it down and analyze it. Not somebody with partial facts and an agenda.

I'd like to see a right leaning op-ed on this same subject now. I don't understand the concept of taxing the employee but then giving them money back unless McCain's real goal is to rid the burden from the employer.

If this were to happen, who is going to bail out all the failed insurance companies as they take on more than they can pay for and financially default?

Bad idea if this is true!

Here's the McCain/Palin web site rendition of their health plan. It sounds very much like the op-ed piece from the NYT but with less detail:

JohnMcCain.com - McCain-Palin 2008

And more/different from NYT:

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/01/us.../01mccain.html

They should do away with health care altogether, but after all my rants i'm pretty sure most folks know my opinion on the matter.

Ok that is really messed up, they want to make health care cheaper yet they are going to tax the hell out of you??? I'm sure the idea is that once everyone starts looking to private insurance companies there will be price wars and eventually be cheaper... but IF that happens its going to take some time and screw over most middle class Americans AND it will mess up the existing insurance companies and probably cause a lot of people to lose their jobs
