From my perspective the Lieberman choice made much more sense in that there are some Dems who probably would've crossed over as well as it would've probably garnered some independent voters as well. Instead his choice seems to have further polarized an already very polarized choice.

No repub was ever going to vote Dem. But there are independents and some centrist Dem's that would've crossed over a few days ago. Now .... I highly doubt if there will be any fence sitters.
The Conservatives, hard core ones anyway, could very well have stayed home on Election day. This gives them a way to save face and put their full support back behind McCain.

I think there may be more fence sitters that have jumped off to the McCain side after this announcement than you realize.

Ain't gonna happen. Women are not going to vote for McCain just because he picked a gal to be his VP. The Hillary supporters may be pissed but they aren't stupid.

The press has dropped Obama from the front page.

Obama doing stuff like this to try to change to public image she presents is proof enough for me that Palin is a better choice. Especially when you look at what she has been in charge of and done.

She went to Iraq and no one even knew it ... But they are finding out NOW.

She has had meetings with Homeland security, controlled the Alaska National Guard, and she probably gave reports to the President about Alaska's readiness in the event of a threat or terrorist attack.

She has met with Russian officials to discuss fishing rights.

She walked to work when weather permitted ... The greenies will like that.

I'll stop for now and let you absorb this list.
I learned when I posted THE OBAMA LIES ... That you can be overwhelmed ... So I'm giving you a short list

The Con's would've really stayed home and threw a temper tantrum and not voted??? Doesn't make sense. If they have the same irrational fear and hatred of Obama that many on this forum have then I would expect nothing less than them holding their nose as it were and vote McCain.

Same thing can be said of the Hillary supporters. They are not going to vote McCain just because of Palin. They will hold their collective noses and vote Obama.

Guess we'll disagree on the significance that Palin has on the fence sitters falling on her side of the fence.

I hope you are right.

Statistically, a few will.

But the majority who vote for McCain/Palin will do so because they like what they see/hear for the future of this country.

Yea, it's hard to speak for a large portion of America and defend why you think you can speak for them.

It's a good back-peddle ... Choosing to agree to disagree so early into the discussion is something I have come to expect.

First, I am voicing my opinion as I understand the situation. I am not speaking for anybody else.

As far as the agreeing to disagree ..... you would rather the conversation go in circles ad nauseum?

Yea, right
Choose your words better if you do not want them to be mis-interpreted.

Circular conversations ?
A linear fashion will work if you stop skipping posts that are directed toward you.

Not deliberately skipping posts directed at me. I've answered accordingly and am bouncing around several different threads. Just like you.

Now, if you will excuse me I am off to a barbeque where one of my former students is home for the long weekend after successfully negotiating his way through Hell Week at BUD/S, the first few weeks of academics for dive phase and passed his drown proofing test.
