Before she was governor, she was mayor of a town of 8,000 people that was really a bridge to nowhere. Barack's district when he was in the Illinois legislature had more people than that.

And Alaska is not a complex state. There are more reindeer there than people.

I just think it's interesting that here is a woman who probably is still nursing her baby, and one with definite challenges, and she's running for the second highest office in the country. She already had a lot on her plate.

And there might be a handful of disgruntled Hillary supporters who are still planning to vote for McCain, but I don't think the Democrats - and Hillary - are going to let women be in the dark on where Palin stands on women's issues.
OK!

Yes, I didn't read Begala's article until after I posted my earlier response. Now maybe the guy I work with saw it somewhere online, but he gave me the line. And, Alaska is NOT a complex state. That's pretty obvious.

Thumbs up

I think it is absolutely great that Democrats are slugging Palin so hard, so fast, with so little justification. It tells me they are very, very concerned what this exceptional woman does for the Republican ticket.

I've been reading through her statements, listening to her recent speeches, reading about her accomplishments as Governor (and mayor of a small town). She apparently has an 81% approval rating as governor in her home state. She is a reformer, too, as both mayor and governor.

Remarkable. Give her four (maybe eight) years as VP, she could make an excellent president.

Agree with all above.

One of the stories I liked best is how she auctioned off the State's jet on Ebay right after taking office. Walking the walk right there.

Well, I think Democrats are afraid of getting robbed again or blowing it themselves. Plus, it's galling to think that McCain gives so little credit to women that he thinks that we would vote for this unknown woman just because she's a woman.

I wonder why conservatives don't have a problem with Palin having 5 children and being an ambitious politician who prefers politics to being a mom.

Wow, you're throwing the entire kitchen sink at this one to stir up as many as possible, aren't you Etta?

Ya got nothing and apparently can't stand it IMO.

Robbed, never happened. Blowing it themselves, history tells us that they do love to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. All by themselves.

Will you ever get over the "Bush stole the election syndrome". No proof has ever surfaced that Bush lost Florida (if you know of any, please post)

I'm kind of traditional when it comes to raising children. I don't believe in gay marriage either.

I can't say that I blame them ... Obama and his hard-core supporters are still unable to answer the question of HOW as it relates to anything Obama states he will do.

As for McCain giving "so little credit to women that he thinks that we would vote for this unknown woman just because she's a woman" ... Perhaps you are not as in touch with the average American woman, as you think you are.

I listened to a talk radio show that was screening and onlu talking to women, and they thought it was a smart move.
Maybe you're just biased.
