I want to point out that those of you who like myself think that this was a great choice have to log one on McCain's scorecard for good judgements. When we evaluate a candidate one of the biggest things we are looking for is the exercise of good judgement. McCain just scored as far as I am concerned and that helps make him Presidential material.

I watched the next POTUS give his nominee acceptance speech the other night. Damn he can give a good speech. He said all the right thing. No I don't believe he can deliver just like any other politician, but I like hearing it any way. I thought to myself, "If he can deliver half of what he says, he will be the best President ever." Of course those are the thing I agree with like energy independence, not universal health care. He did have plenty of good ideas.
I was thinking how this country is ready for change. Period. I was thinking how Obama was going to crush McCain in the general. How there is no way McCain could possibly compete against such a message of hope and change. How his campaign is about as inspiring as a fart..... Wow, what a difference 24hrs makes. What a strategic decision to announce the day after that speech. What a breath of fresh air Palin is in any setting. How Obama's campaign already took a big bite out of their own foot bringing up her lack of experience. I'm actually excited. I'm actually hopeful. The biggest thing in this campaign is the media. I don't by into media bias. However, there is no way in hell the media was going to pass up not covering the most historical election ever when Obama was sworn in. It was a frenzy. Well now, Palin is historical as well. She is actually more likable to many. I doubt she has any racist mentors in her past. Hopefully now we can get some equal coverage and show who will be best for this country. McCain has a damn fine career. I don't like career politicians, but I like McCain. He has a lot to be proud of, and while he isn't ultra conservative, he is exactly the kind of moderate this country needs right now. He has exactly the kind of integrity I want leading us. His choice for VP could not have been better. They are perfect together. I don't like McAmnesty, but I choose to look at his body of work. That big mountain standing over Obama's mole hill. Palin is a great choice. Palin has integrity. She is a FISCAL conservative (yes social as well) and any short comings she has are the same as Obama. I can't help remembering a quote from Obama himself, "Change does not come from Washington, change comes to Washington." Thank you very much Senator, couldn't have said it better myself.

Sarah Palin 2012. I just like the sound of it, President Palin. And yes I have thought so for more than 24 hrs. I have actually thought so since the first Glenn Beck interview. She's got all the right stuff.

Blog preview; it fits here.
![]() America goes nuts every few cycles and elects a loon from the left. This is usually because they are sick of Republican 'establishment politics', etc. The fact is that there are still lots of hippies left (although most of them have grandchildren now) and these folks are the stock & trade of the Democrat party. A Clinton or Carter comes along, and viola- we have a Democrat president. This is a situation we usually soon regret. The Republicans learned to capitalize on this and they cleaned house in '80 and again in '94. They also earned the ass-kicking they got in 2006 and the public exposure of several their more perverted/corrupt members, cost them any 'moral high ground' they might have gained in the post-Clinton years. In fact, the GOP has wussed-out to the point that it stands for practically nothing. Add an increasing disapproval of the Iraq War, and in 2008 you have the 'perfect storm' for a total Democrat takeover of government. Except for one thing. Obama scares the socks off normal old salt-of-the-earth folks and it has nothing to do with his color, which like the rest of him is impossible to define. I would vote for a Walter Williams or JC Watts so fast it would make your head swim- and I've got a Confederate Flag License Plate which the family bought me on a trip through Alabama No, it is Obama's past radical positions and associations which normal folks abhor. We're not talking 'distant past' or 'youthful indiscretions' here, either. We are talking the intentional aligning of oneself with anti-American factions- cop-killers, racists and admitted bombers of government buildings -for the express purpose of furthering his political career. This worked a little better than even Obama might have anticipated, at least within the kook-fringe of the Democrat party. With apologies to my Southern, Truman, and 'salt-of-the-earth' Democrat friends- I am sad to say that the kooks are now running your party. So now Obama is catapulted onto the national stage, resplendent in his TV preacher glory and with all the free advertising and fawning that the mainstream media can muster. The loons are ecstatic and people of color are rightfully overjoyed that they have finally have a team in the Super Bowl. The problem for the rest of us is that this particular QB has a history of downing the ball when things get scary, or just throwing it to the other team when it suits his purposes. And in a world at war, the 'other team' wants to bomb and burn 3000 of us to death in public buildings on US soil, cut our heads off, or convert us to Islam at the point of a sword. Obama's answer to our concern over these matters is to ridicule us for clinging to our bibles and guns. Sound advice from a man who swore his oath of office on a Koran. Small wonder that he gets little-to-no support from active-duty military personnel. There will never be a time when we need an Anti-American sympathizer as president. McCain isn't a good enough conservative to scare 'salt-of-the earth' Democrats; hell, McCain is practically a Truman Democrat himself. The big difference between Harry and McCain is that Harry actually liked guns- and McCain scares the heck out of gun-owning libertarians and conservatives. But Sarah Palin is a sharp, 100% pro-gun, Reagan-esque progressive conservative, who is also the worst nightmare of government waste and corruption. She is much loved by the good people of Alaska and her willingness to sacrifice time away from that paradise, in service of her country, speaks well of this lady's sincere belief in public service. She is exactly the tempering element that a McCain presidency needs, to make it palatable for freedom loving individuals and gun owners. If McCain thinks he picked himself a 'yes woman' in Sarah Palin, I believe he will have been sadly mistaken. And that is the attraction of this ticket. McCain for the military folks, moderate Democrats and Republicans alike, and Palin for the libertarians, the ladies, the gun owners and the Reagan conservatives. Against that, an Obama-Biden ticket don't stand a chance. There simply aren't enough kooks and radicals to elect them. Thank you, Lord. God bless America.
