Unhappy Obama On The Bible

How could this guy be so admired by about half the American population, and at the same time mock the very foundation that this country was built upon?

The very country God has raised up is admiring a new leader who mocks Him this way? Forgive me if I don't understand, but I thought Obama touts himself as a 'Christen'. Did I miss something here?

The Bible talks about this kind of trend and where we are headed. How obvious do the signs need to be before everyone sees it?

we are a not christian nation, i challenge the notion that our foundations are inherently christian.

of the founding fathers there were 88 Episcopalians, 30 Presbyterians, 27 congregationalists, 7 Quakers, 6 Dutch Reformed, 5 Lutheran, 3 Catholic, 3 Huguenot, 3 Unitarians, 2 Methodists, and a Calvinist.

We are a secular nation with freedom of speech. I can't fault the Obamessiah on this one...

Man, you don't know anything about religious theology if you think the various religions quoted above are non-Christian in basic concepts and fundamental teaching. All of them are based on Christianity.

The intent of the post is to show what an empty suit Obama is - he claims to be a Christian when it suits him, yet mocks that very religion. Yes, we have freedom of speech - but please, if you claim one thing to sway a religious audience, stick with the message in front of other audiences. All it proves is his lack of honesty (not surprising, based on the fact that he comes from one of the most corrupt political machines in the country - Cook County and Chicago).

Well for not being a Christian nation founded by Christians on Christian priniciples, there sure are a lot of federal buildings and money around disputing that premise.

Once elected, I am sure that Obama will be spending our tax dollars to remove all references to God in the government so we can be proper world citizens.

*Sigh*

Why does anybody take that man seriously? Who cares what he says about the Bible? We all know he's a retard.

SO... in other words... a bunch of Christians.

It's undeniable that this country was founded closely along Christian-based principles, and I think it's great that we are grounded enough in LIBERTY to not force the Christian religion on our citizens.

As to the OP's post...

I think that Barack Obama's speech is really inexcusable here. The "people aren't reading their bibles" comment really peeves me. There's a difference between Obama between reading 'sound bytes' out of the bible like he did, and actually 'reading and comprehending' the surrounding context. Quote Leviticus and Deuteronomy? Sure they lay down a Jewish code of law for the time it was written, but don't forget that law wasn't even literally taken by Jesus' time; OF COURSE trying to apply 4,000 year old law sounds ridiculous now. Perhaps he missed the part, too, where the early Church excuses Gentiles from 99% of Jewish law? Sure Jesus preached peace, but don't forget Luke 22:36 where he suggests Christians arm themselves for the coming troubles.

The worst of it seems to be that Obama did this just to get a reaction. But really, if insulting scripture is necessary for him to get his point across he's going to have a tough road.

But I also think the video's format and commentary are pretty crappy, shallow, and anger-laced. Looks like it was thrown together and scripted by a high school kid. A lot more rational, hard-hitting commentary could have been stated about Obama's speech, and I think the video failed miserably at an intellectual rebuttal. Oh well.

The great thing about the http://www.fightthesmear.com website is that you can send emails to anyone you want saying anything you want and it will say it came from BarackObama.com Just go to the “spread the word” portions of the website. Put in the emails of the people you want to send it to. Delete the message and add your own. You can write things like “Michelle hasn’t been proud of America until recently” and so on.
