This is great news for McCain! I think the Saddleback interviews of both candidates really helped McCain. I hope this is a trend!

It is good news that he is even close at this point in the season. I don't put much faith in early polls, or any polls for that matter. Given the initial hype and media frenzy over BO, and the dissatisfaction with GWB and the Repubs, many are shocked that BO doesn't have a commanding lead in the polls at this point in time.

EDIT: BTW, I do think that the Saddleback forum definitely helped to get these numbers.

the tightening of the polls has many liberals panties in a twist. the messiuh is supposed to be winning clearly, not neck and neck or trailing.

I believe the poll was taken Thurs - Sat. The Saddleback forum didn't air until the poll was completed. I, therefore degree, that the lead is at least 10 points. But seriously, this is good news and I hope the trend continues but I have an uneasy feeling regarding McCain's VP choice (and many of McCain issues).
