No it isn't bashing because gun control laws are ISSUES. Barack Obama is a PERSON. You can hash over issues til the cows come home but attacking a person is distasteful the first time it's done and it is many times more distasteful the 50,000th time that it is done.

You don't like him. Fine. It is said and done. Let it go.

Talk about issues of his campaign or stuff like that but the ad hominem attacks against the man start to stink after awhile even for those who aren't fans of Obama.

I'm not pointing a finger at you or anyone in particular. People who are dumping on the man rather than the issues know who they are. Those folks need to get a life and move on to something else.

You will find nobody more opposed to Obama than I. My opposition stems from his lack of qualification to be commander in chief of the nation. I have said it on this system several times. You apparantly weren't tuned into those particular threads. I have also pointed out Obama's deep connection to Chicago politics and its relationship to gun control issues and the likely course of gun control under an Obama administration. I did that a long time ago before it was the popular topic.

And I confess I have been guilty of exactly what I am preaching against. I am not proud of it and it is ohhh so easy to do. But the fact is that it is pointless and profitless.

If you want to see someone other than Obama elected there is a LOT more to be gained by coalescing all those who oppose Obama's politics behind one man who can beat him in an election. And right now, there is only one man who has even the slightest chance to do that. There are several people running but only one can win... John McCain. He is not one of my favorite people. But only he has the support, the ground machine, and the money to beat Obama.

So rather than bashing Obama how about supporting McCain? Anything that one does to convince a disaffected voter to not cast his/her vote for a candidate with no real chance to win the election will help McCain... assuming that those votes go to McCain instead of whoever or Obama.

McCain is behind in the polls and if you all hate Obama so much you better start figuring out how to increase the McCain vote count or you WILL have an Obama presidency. Then you will b%tch and moan for another 4 years or more and drive me even crazier. And that makes me b%tchy and ornery and contrary which isn't the way I want to be. I want to be nice, sweet, and ever so lovable for you all!!
