Sorry I forgot.

Besides, I haven't been on recently so I have to keep up my post count some how.

So material wealth doesn't matter? I thought that's what you were arguing about.

Make up your mind, are you unhappy that some are poor while others are rich or aren't you.

Etta, if I may ask, do you give to every single poor person who has a sign that says "Need Money for food" on the side of the street?

I don't. Do you know why? Because too many will use that money for booze. What I do, however, is offer to get some food for them from the nearest fast food place or grocery store. To this day, not one has taken me up on that offer.

What is the moral of the story? While there are many out there who need help, there are also many who want to abuse the help given to people. That money stolen from the successful is not only going to those who need help, but those who abuse the system, as a great deal has been in the past. Reform of the system is what is needed to stop (or at least reduce) the abuse, not just more given overall with the hopes to increase the amount of help given to those who need it.

Success should be rewarded, and laziness should be shunned, NOT the other way around.

Explanation please?

Much of the "have not" class in this scenario don't pay any Federal/State taxes at all.

You know...

Several weeks ago I created a post outlining the position of John McCain on several major issues. Within that post I stated those that I agreed with and those that I disagreed with. One of the main reason for the post was due to the bitching and moaning of some here that too much time was being spent on Obama. JUST LIKE THIS THREAD. I don't think Etta and some of the other whiners that complain, want anything posted about McCain, they just need something to cry about.

The Everyone Talks about Obama Too Much and Not About McCain Thread.

There are nations that have lesser wealth inequality than the U.S. These countries are generally European - Norway, Denmark, Slovakia, Finland, and the Netherlands. Did you know that the happiest people in the world are the Danes?

Yes, material wealth is important. I think the subject was that Obama inspires people. And, I don't think that inspiration is about monetary things. It's about people being more than they are right now - individually and collectively.

Good for the Danes. What does that have to do with our country?

and if I got any happier, they'd lock me up in a straight-jacket.
