Now, if you want to continue making excuses for him, go right ahead. Some of us know better. In fact, why are you making excuses for him? Personally, I think thats pretty low. While youre at it, tell me what entitles him to say one thing and do another; Specifically in this case, have that mansion and more gas guzzlers than 4 families need.
I'm not making excuses for him. I was questioning your comment.

Quite the opposite, actually. Edwards furthers his hypocrisy by lying about an affair for how long?

But, people like Etta will let him off the hook, and its not surprising. People like me who have lived in NC for a while and seen how much of a douche he really is? Yeah, not so much...

I agree that him standing on a stage preaching to everyone how they should conserve while he is using energy like crazy (if that's what he's doing) is hypocritical.
Thus, you must agree that Al Gore is also a hypocrite.

I predict that an off the wall answer will be coming your way to throw the discussion off of your point.

I feel bad for the guy's family and particularly his wife. Fact is that I'm not in a position to throw stones at him for what he did. I can yuck it up over him being dumb enough to sneak some strange, while also trying his damndest to remain in the national spotlight.

John Edwards' remarks in New Orleans, 1/30:

I began my presidential campaign here to remind the country that we, as citizens and as a government, have a moral responsibility to each other, and what we do together matters.
*******...You'd have been better off to sneak off & rent a hooker.

In the end, why are we surprised? The guy's a politician. Allergic to work. Self-aggrandizing, egomaniac, self-centered plastic-haired professional bull$hitter. So now we discover he's a leg humper and a liar.

At least this bit of news won't lower my opinion of him.

Not necessarily. And, I wasn't calling Edwards a hypocrite because of environmental issues either. I don't know that Edwards is not practicing what he preaches. I believe that Al Gore is becoming more and more in line with what he recommends all the time. He is walking the walk.

I've got less of a problem with infidelity than dishonesty.

Its really not any of our business who he's boinking or what his marital life is like.

The dishonesty is what gets me.
