Not from those of us who view this as a security issue ... I for one will still be pushing for this to occur.

The environmental movement that views them as evil ??

As for a price drop ... A pay increase or restructuring of expenses could do the same thing ... People often buy what they want and rarely consider what they need.

SUVs are not evil, just misguided and wasteful.

An inanimate object (SUV) "misguided"? "Wasteful"? Sounds a lot like "Guns kill people" reasoning to me.

So...who is going to decide what each of us "needs?"

The government?

Some faceless panel of do-gooders?

Is this the America our founders intended? With some entity deciding what each person needs?

Really?

Congratulations...we'll hand you your hammer and sickle and you can leave this place...ok commerade?

Okay. The mentality of individuals who would choose a large SUV in this day and age is misguided. The driving of such a vehicle is a waste of resources.

why is it wasteful? Who are you to judge someones needs and wants? Seriously, are you listening to yourself?

What is worse, Etta?

A guy who uses his vehicle, say a 4 door pickup, which can be argued as a LARGE suv with a big open trunk, for his daily activities. Say he drives to the jobsite with material in the bed, works all day, drives home, takes his son to his little league practice. And he drives about 15,000 miles a year doing this.

OR...
A mom who drives a Prius out shopping at all the fashionable malls all day long, because her hubby works and she doesn't, buys an excessive amount of clothing and shoes that she doesn't need, then comes home and gives the keys to here teenage daughter who uses the car the rest of the day to pick up her girl friends who go to the same mall to do more of the same PLUS cruise around while texting on their cells. This vehicle drives about 45,000 miles a year.
