This is why it's important to keep high gas prices. To be quite honest, I hope gas hits 6 dollars a gallon. I live in Atlanta, and it'll make me happier than anything to see these single women no longer driving escalades. Oh, and you may be wondering what I do for a living?

I run a construction company and spend roughly 800+ in fuel each week. I live in a world that is VERY influenced by fuel costs. Which is why I've been personally switching over to biodiesel.

Cheap oil prices will only breed more foreign oil dependence. So instead of thinking of oil based solutions, think of other solutions. Like electric powered trucks that get 200 miles per charge. How much to charge the truck you ask? Roughly 3 dollars. And it's already here. Trucks

That's 3 dollars to drive 200 miles! The truck pays for itself in 3 years.

Not to mention we could go completely clean for electricity issues such as here T. Boone Pickens: Kicking Off the World’s Largest Wind Farm Earth2Tech This is a guy who's been in the oil industry for over 50 years! You want to talk about a guy who knows energy. We CAN become independent energy wise. We can become more eco friendly.

Which is why it annoys me when I constantly here about refinery this, drill that, foreign oil etc. Oil hasn't gone away because it's big business. The government made around 58 billion last year in oil taxes alone TaxProf Blog: Gas Taxes Exceed Oil Companies' Profits That's a LOT of money. So is it any wonder that we're still using resources we don't have to? It's simply good business... at least for the oil companies and the government. Sadly it's bad business for us, and even more so for our children.

So when you talk about energy plans please remember that we are only as dependent upon oil as we choose to be. America is THE most innovative and creative country by far. We've always done far more with what we had, and in more ingenious ways. Do I need to point out that quite a few american inventors have been key in changing the very way the world lives? So why are we still looking at refineries, and drilling? Why are we not saying "raise gas prices!". These leads to us consuming less gas and doing more with what we have. Honestly on a forum that seems super patriotic, this seems to be the most patriotic thing of all. To push for change in the RIGHT direction.

To push for an energy independent country that can meet not only our needs, but our childrens needs.
Freaking agenda troll.......... You will never get my vote.

Pronounce your Boss's name right.... in the south we say 'Bama.... not 'Boma.......JEEEEZZZZZ!

Drive-by posting. Not sure why the leftist come to traditionally conservative forums to post their crap.

If there were a large scale switch to LPG it wouldn't stay at that rate for long.
