CNN/Money: Global gas prices

Not to mention quite a few other countries have ALREADY experienced much higher prices than us. I guess they all just don't buy diapers though, right?

They've adapted. European cars on average are smaller. Buses are used more. Trains are considered viable modes of getting from point a to point b. They have diesel vehicles that get 40mpg+.

Also implying that I like to hurt others to prove a point makes it seems like this is more than a conversation. Do you routinely shoot people to prove theory on hollow points? Because I haven't raised gas prices anywhere, nor do I have the power to do so. Which is why I don't know how I have hurt anyone by attempting to prove this point...
You are obviously very biased and geographically opiniated.

Many places do not have such forms of public transportation, and of those that do ... A trip that might take 30-40 minutes can become a 2 hour plus excursion that does not allow for a side trip to the grocery store on the way home, the ability to pick-up kids from the day care that closed long before the bus arrived at that location ... Etcetera!

Your post about buses IMO shows your ignorance of the subject at hand and the reason you will bounce on out of here with the troll label. When all else fails get insulting. Go learn something about the demographics and physical layout of this country before making broad based suggestions. I'm done with you for now. You've begun to really bore me.
You also fail to realize that the majority of america now live in cities. Only 58 million people are considered rural. Rural America: Opportunities and Challenges That's roughly 1 out of 6 americans. To say that public transportation isn't possible for a majority of americans is an unsubstantiated claim. 250 million americans occupy only 20% of the US.

I think driving cars is stupid. This is a nice opinion, but that's all it is. That the majority of Americans are urban is a fact.

Have you ever heard of the term urban sprawl ???
Trust me, I could get on a bus and travel all day and never get from one side of town to the other.

Do you suggest people never own a home and instead move around town for the rest of their lives just to avoid ...Life on a bus ??

I didn't see a definition of what is considered "rural" for the purposes of these stats. Got one for the slower among us?

That's a great observation.

They can buy fuel (oil) because they have our money for their cheap-ass crap. What a vicious circle that is.

The big winners in all this? OPEC.
