Re-read post #1. That is what my comments are about. Did you read the Snopes?????????? Here it is again just in case: snopes.com: Barack Obama in Afghanistan

If you feel the need like jimichna did to bring in things that aren't related directly to the OP I guess that's your business but I won't chime in unless you care to comment on the Snopes rebuttal.

Threads sometimes drift, as you well know. Sometimes they drift intentionally when a member doesn't like the responses and changes the subject. You are familiar with this, arent you?

Snopes has nothing to do with my accusation.

Also, I am not sorry if this thread drifts, I didn't start the thread and am no more in control of it's direction than you are. If you can't defend your candidate as the topic shifts directions .... To bad!!

So, again, no commentary about the above. I'm sure it's easier to ignore that which you do not care for. It's not really a good debating tactic though. It can really bite your credibility in the azz pretty hard.

Well, here's my response to the OP, and I felt it was kind of boring ... So I added a little to the topic about Obama being a liar .... So comment on the new direction, or do you think the story is worthy of it's own thread ??

Maybe now we know why Barack Obama never called a meeting of his subcommittee on European relations to discuss the NATO effort in Afghanistan. Apparently, Obama is confused about his own committee assignments. In Israel, Obama tried to claim a little credit for work on a bill done by the Senate Banking Committee — on which he does not serve:

The bill calls for divestment from Iran, a common-sense plan that has wide bipartisan support. Obama clearly wanted to claim credit for this effort, but as the Senate website clearly shows, Obama doesn’t belong on the Banking committee. Nor is Obama on any of the subcommittees.

Once again, Obama wants to claim credit for efforts on which he served no role. Either that, or Obama is such a dilettante that he has no idea on which committees he actually belongs. It could even be both. Neither gives any confidence that Obama has any grasp at all of his own job, let alone the one for which he’s campaigning. Maybe he needed a lot more than three years to get acclimated to national politics.

I find it hard to call this a gaffe!!
