Reading this, an episode of South Park comes to mind. The episode was called "Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants" in which Cartman squares off with Osama in a Loony Toons style showdown. But at the very end, when asked about whether he would leave America, Stan replied, "America may have some problems, but it's our home, our team. If you don't want to root for your team, then you should get the hell out of the stadium." I just wish the Anti-Americans in this country would actually take that advice.

Actually, I think I want that as my sig...

IMO, it has nothing to do with administrative policy. So please do me a favor ... Write the author of this article and voice your admiration for what he wrote, but tell him I said F OFF. His political agenda is better suited to a different historical event and a different nation.

Almost everyone else in this thread in their own way said the country was off track. What makes my post different. I wasn't agreeing with the entire article. I quoted a section where he advocated that humility that I've been talking about and that Ron Paul has been talking about.

Rupert is the closest to endorsing the words within the article. But he does not contunually preach of how we are off track and must suffer because of it.

My response was a correlation of many things you repeat.

I realize you did not agree with the entire article. But sorry, I will not agree with any part of using the 4th of July to further an agenda.

Humility on the 4th of July ... I'm not going to agree with that either.

Bottom line ... You place yourself in these positions by your choice of words, and thus also cause a bluring of topics as your mentality toward the people of America is continually revealed.

Amen, brother. Nobody ever asks the political affiliation of the patriot who fired that first shot 'heard 'round the world' at the Old North Bridge:

Quote:
"By the rude bridge that arched the flood,
Their flag to April's breeze unfurled,

Here once the embattled farmers stood
And fired the shot heard round the world."

Ralph Waldo Emerson
Today is a good day to light one up in their honor.

Yes, I am in disagreement with many things .... But I'm not promoting the idea of pushing political agendas on a National Holiday.

I can wait for another day.

I picked up a big flag yesterday to hang off my house. screw the HOA this weekend.
yeahYeah, I don't think you have to worry about your HOA as the Freedom to Display the American Flag Act of 2005, permits it. Here is a salient part of the Act:

Quote:
The substantive part of the Act states:
A condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association may not adopt or enforce any policy, or enter into any agreement, that would restrict or prevent a member of the association from displaying the flag of the United States on residential property within the association with respect to which such member has a separate ownership interest or a right to exclusive possession or use. . .

Nothing in this Act shall be considered to permit any display or use that is
inconsistent with . . . any reasonable restriction pertaining to the time, place, or manner of displaying the flag of the United States necessary to protect a substantial interest of the condominium association, cooperative association, or residential real estate management association.17
A reasonable restriction they could impose would be you cannot fly a flag so large that it would impact a neighbor's view from his residence. So, you should probably not raise that 40'x50' flag of yours up the pole.

You are not alone
I noticed the same thing on Memorial day, and am watching a repeat today.

At least the next block over has a few flags flying
When the SHTF they'll probably be my allies as we take the neighborhood
