not surprised seeing how the mexican police, military is real corrupt. Not a good idea when the govt pays them very little, have this type of position and firepower, and have a very wealthy drug cartel in need of services that these LE/military can easily provide.

The office of Gov. Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) recently released a report to the Associated Press which praised the Tennessee National Guard unit for fleeing the scene in the face of an armed incursion into the United States. The report said: "We see this as a triumph of the training, discipline, and professionalism of the Guardsmen performing their mission."
WTF!?!?!? This is insane. Ol' Janet has gone so far to the left. Oh wait, I know why, she's positioning herself for a job with Obama. |

Careful how you tread here, I am a TN national guardsman, and have done border duty albeit not in the same role as those guys. Our ROE and the fact that our guys were unarmed dictated how they handled that situation. They DID do exactly what they were supposed to do. It was not 'fleeing the scene' by any stretch of the word. They reported the activity and left without getting shot. That was what they were there to do, and what they did. There are all kinds of considerations that need to be addressed before we arm guardsmen and give them LE roles. Legal and otherwise. As far as I know, the DHS through the border agents have the only legal power to use armed force on the border, and the Guard isn't in the DHS. We are DOD, and then only after 'federalized' (technically). Until then, we are our state's asset on loan to another state. I think the only thing the federal govt did was fund it all, not federalize us.

Hey switch.. nobody said anything derogatory about the Guardsmen. I think the comment was to reflect the liberal nature of our current Governor in AZ, and the fact she will not, Has not enforced immigration and border regulations in spite of the public outcry.

AZ: you are right, my post was a little strong. Ready, Shoot, Aim. Further reason to think about it before you arm a Guardsman and send him out on the border, I guess!
