ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - A presidential seal graphically altered with symbols representing Barack Obama's campaign of change was just for one-time use and will not be used again, a spokeswoman for the Democrat's campaign said Monday.

The seal, with its blue background and an eagle in the center clutching arrows and an olive branch, evoked the official presidential version, but had been altered with a new Latin phrase, instead of the original "E pluribus unum," which means, "Out of many, one."
Obama's campaign changed the phrase to "Vero possumus," which can be roughly translated to his "Yes, we can" slogan. The seal also featured his "O" campaign logo covering the eagle's body, instead of a shield.
When the altered seal was unveiled last Friday in Chicago, it raised eyebrows and prompted comments about how presidential it looked. The Republican National Committee gleefully ridiculed it as a prop.
Jen Psaki, a spokeswoman for Obama's campaign, said Monday that the altered seal would not be used again. She said it was only intended for that event, in which Obama held a round-table discussion with Democratic governors.

I dunno, this kind of bugs me. I hope I can read at least a few responses before it might get whisked away into the PV thread which I can not read. I don't think this is PV, though. (But I leave it to the wisdom of the moderators to decide) I think of it more as idiots putting Obama so high on a pedastal, it's gotten rediculous. Now they're creating new symbols for him by defacing one of the nations sacred ones. This doesn't bode well for this country as a nation where its people would go do something like this so willingly. Now they're trying to play it down.

Obama is not our new king, dictator, ruler, god, or lord where he requires his own symbol. Why are people so stupid???

I just read this article to, and didn't sit to well with me. For on altering the seal for personal use. Secondly...to me its like taking your victory lap...before the race even starts.

The GOP has so much ammunition to use against Obama in this election. Most of which was provided by Hillary, Michelle and Barack. But people are sheep and are easily lead or willfully blind so Obama will have better than a good chance to win.

who cares? is the presidential seal sacred? maybe i've been drinking a little, but really...i mean. come on. it's not like the eagle is holding a turban and an oil barrel!

He's not the president, and it wasn't the presidential seal, it was a fabrication of someone on his campaign staff.

There was talk on this seal today on the radio & TV.
It was deemed "presumptuous" as he leads in the polls. It goes with his arrogance.
How about the Illinois state seal?
I can't believe this guy might be our next President and that most Americans are under his spell. I've heard people say that they will vote for him because he is "hip".
Now that's a great reason isn't it?
