Anybody ever hear of a dimmer switch? It will make a standard incandescent bulb last for a loooong time.

There's a lot of toxic waste in many things electronic. Somebody needs to wake up and figure some things out. PC boards, TV's, radio's and many other things contain toxic waste. Lead, mercury and who the hell knows what else.

The point is not that we have toxic waste, it's that congress mandated (ORDERED) we have more - we as citizens have no choice.
In addition, many of the libs bitch about buying so much from china... Congress just mandated - we do more - we have no choice. Thass the point. Quote:

I really liked the part where he pulled the Constitution out of his pocket and said that there was nothing in it that allowed the government to mandate what light bulbs we could use.

This is just another way that the modern liberals have increased the cost of doing business for companies and increased the cost of living for families.
CFL bulbs cost significantly more than regular bulbs. That's the democrats and the modern liberals are all about now...eliminating choices (unless it involves killing an unborn child) because they know what is best for you and are smarter and more qualified to make these kinds of decisions for you! Just like ethanol - yeah its alternative, but now food is through the roof and people are starving. It works, but at what cost? The CFL works, saves energy - just dont drop it.
They are actually more dangerous to the environment then the traditional bulbs, but the environmentalists keep hush hush about that. it wil screw up their plans. When i change out my CFL bulbs in my house, i need to BRING THEM to an approve place to have them recycled....amazing. ON THE BRIGHT SIDE... if someone ever breaks into my house and i do not have access to my gun(s), i can throw CFL light bulbs at them and give them mercury poisoning.
