Obama Vs Osama

OBAMA VS. OSAMA - New York Post

Quote:
June 19, 2008 -- NAME-BRAND journalists have let Barack Obama make any claim he chooses about Iraq, Afghanistan or coping with terrorism without pinning him down for details.
Yet many of his comments and positions seem stunningly naive about national security. Given that this man may become our next president, shouldn't he explain how he'd do the many impressive things he's promised?

This week, Obama claimed, again, that he'd promptly capture Osama bin Laden. OK, tell me how: Specifically, which concrete measures would he take that haven't been taken? How would he force our intelligence agencies to locate bin Laden? And he can't just respond, "That's classified."

He also claimed that fighting terrorism is a law-enforcement problem, not a military one (should we send the NYPD to Mosul and Kandahar?), and that the answer to terrorism is the approach taken after the 1993 World Trade Center attack, featuring conventional trials and prison terms.

That flaccid post-'93 response only encouraged terrorists - who are unfazed by the prospect of a US prison, where the quality of life's better than it was at home. The Clinton administration's hesitancy and softness gave us the subsequent attacks on the Khobar Towers housing complex in Saudi Arabia, on our embassies in East Africa, on the USS Cole and, ultimately, the events of 9/11.

The senator needs to tell us why it would be different now.
Obama has also said he'd send our troops into Pakistan, although he'll withdraw rapidly from Iraq. His unwillingness to discuss the consequences of a hasty retreat from Baghdad is one thing - but invading Pakistan would be an order of magnitude worse.

A substantial number of Iraq's 26 million citizens did welcome us. In Pakistan, with its 170 million Muslims and some of the most rugged terrain on earth, anti-Americanism prevails. Any US military incursion would be greeted with outrage and demands for a military response.
Nor does Obama appear to grasp that armies need fuel, ammunition, food, spare parts and other supplies. Nearly everything for our troops in landlocked Afghanistan, from bottled water to medical supplies, now comes via Pakistani ports, roads and railroads. If those long, difficult routes were cut, how would President Obama supply our troops? And no, it can't all be done by air.

Oh, Pakistan has nukes, too.

Also this week, Obama's advisers stated that, if apprehended, Osama bin Laden should be tried in a conventional US courtroom. My fellow Americans, do you believe that?
Osama 1, Obama 0

Someone let Obama know that Osama will be in Denver for the convention...Obama can promptly capture him there.

You forgot just this week the MSM changed the spelling of Osama Bin Laden or OBL to Usama Bin Laden or UBL as I have seen this week in several news stories.

It seems it is one more way for the MSM to help Barrack Hussain Obama....

There's no question in my mind that the United States spends too much on the military - whatever they're spending it on!!

How do you catch a well-trained and disciplined group of terrorists that have money and connections with global networks of civilian supporters that also may be involved in governments throughout the region in which they operate? I can tell you how not to do it, invading countries that do not support or work with them and increasing their pool of volunteers with events such as Abu Ghraib and numerous incidents of collateral damage.

Hunting groups like this is something that needs to be done with finesse and is actually tailored better to smaller organizations and covert units rather than large military forces. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was caught with traditional law enforcement techniques, surveillance, phone taps, and analysis matrices.

The argument of deterrence is pointless in this case. Our enemies don't fear our prisons but they also don't fear dying so deterring them also isn't an option. We have to either kill or capture them.

Also, to go into Pakistan to get bin Laden we don't have to invade, we just have to have their permission and considering all the aide we have been giving them and can give to their rival India we have plenty of leverage over them to force this. We have already fired some hellfire missiles at taliban targets inside of pakistan with predator drones, but we have yet to put boots on the ground and really take the fight to AQ there. Pakistani cooperation will be important to make sure bin Laden and others don't slip out to some other region. Finally we are not talking about taking over all of Pakistan as you make it seem, which leads me to think you know little about what Pakistan actually looks like and where Waziristan is. We will need to launch limited incursions into regions that are currently under the control of the Taliban, not the central government...

At one time, none of this could be proven.
YouTube - The Secret Government

So why not prove that what he claims ... Is an untruth. Some people know things they cannot provide proof of.
I could tell you some things about my time in the Navy, but I won't ... The $hit is still classified.

And though Pakistan's government is our "friend", how many in the government AND the military are really supporters of Al Qiada? Too many. So we let Pakistan know we are going to X and Y via Z and you don't think this gets back to Osama and his flock?
Obama has a better way? Maybe he wants to have a sit-down with Osama.
Then it'll really be Obama Vs Osama as the name of this thread states.
