Here's a link to remind people of what I am talking about...

(my favorite) - Sorry that you can't make the distinction between what Frenchy wrote and what she did.

I'm sure Etta appreciates you bringing up the fact that she blatantly plagiarized on this forum. ......

(Wait....I was wrong...THIS is my favorite!):Why can't you let sleeping dogs lie?
Frank.....what ever happened to that great sense of humor you told us you possessed? Remember writing about how you "cracked jokes all the time" here? I've been doing some (very light) research and can't seem to find any examples. Whatcha got for us??

I'm sure that if Frenchy or Etta (or anyone) has an issue with what I say regarding them, that they are fully capable of letting me know. I'm sure they appreciate your efforts on their behalves, but I'm equally sure that your efforts are not required. You really don't need to over-do keeping your plate so full.

And of ALL THE PEOPLE ON EARTH....for YOU to make a remark about letting sleeping dogs lie.....(with a link to be sure that the "sleeping dog" of Etta's transgression that you took to the wall..... LOL....Do you EVER read and think about what you say?

I'm not complaining. Just asking......

I've said as recently as today how much I appreciate your contributions here. But still......take a whiff of the coffee once in a while.

BTW, don't know why you appeared to be on some kind of sabbatical or whatever recently, but no matter the circumstances, welcome back.

And I sincerely hope the reason for your absence was not due to any unpleasantness. Hope you and your family are happy, healthy and that your baby is giving you the pleasure that babies do. Enjoy this time of your life. It's a truly special time. Make a conscious effort to be aware of how great this time really is. That stuff you hear about "youth being wasted on the young"....all true!

EDIT: Wow....I was watching the ball game (Mets/Angels) while writing this post. I certainly missed a lot of "fill" while not checking to see if anyone had found this all as amusing as I figured only I did. Obviously I was wrong. And essentially my remarks to Frank (about his post I quoted, not about his baby and absence) were superfluous by the time I finished and hit the "enter' button. Oh well. Nice to occasionally find that my presumptions are sometimes at least partially accurate! LOL

Peace,
D.

I guess you missed the wink face? I figured you would.

Thanks for taking the bait, as usual.

As I've mentioned in 2 other threads, I've been gone for awhile because I had 2 of my best employees move away, so I've been busy interviewing, hiring, and training new staff. The wife and baby have also kept me busy.

I'm glad you thought about me while I was away.

Frank

Let's unhijack this thread...

Wow...are you serious?

Answer: Medicare and social security.

Those programs have historically cost and will cost more than the Iraq war ever will. These programs--as well as other massive entitlement programs--are named by the comptroller general of the United States, David Walker, as the primary reasons that the US may go bankrupt one day. The Iraq war is NOT mentioned.

Frank....sorry I didn't see the posts you referred to. I'm still "on the road" myself and not quite "up to speed" on these threads. (sort of refreshing to take a break, know what i mean?).

Hopefully I'll be back home by the end of this month. Been between Minneapolis, Chicago and Aspen since late December. Might go back to school this September, so this summer may be my real last fling on these boards. So I'll try and squeeze in as much insanity as I can between now and whenever school starts (around August 20 or something like that if I pull the trigger).

Anyway...glad to hear that you took care of business and prioritized that over posting here when it was necessary.

As for your last comment. Just curious.....how does quoting YOURSELF with no additions qualify as "un-hijacking" this (or any) thread?

New rule?

Are you now our local version of Bill Maher? LOL (you and he have so much else in common - this would seem to make some kind of bizarre sense). But quite a task to take on in addition to your law enforcement duties here. Oh well...guess it's good to be young and so energetic!

Thanks in advance for any explanation.

And if you really wish to talk about the topic....how can you compare Social Security and Medicare to the war in Iraq?

As "wasteful" "inefficient", "socialist", (pick your description) as you may believe these programs to be, they were at least devised (good idea or not) to provide benefits for the American public.

How can you equate that intent with a war that in no way provides any benefits for the same American public?

And don't waste our time with "We're fighting them there so we won't need to fight them here" kind of nonsense.

But since I already know that no matter how I ask the question, your answer (if I get one) will be something along those lines. I'm resigned to reality (as repetitious and nonsensical and canned as that is).

Which brings up another question.....if we can't "cut and run" (blah, blah, blah) for all the BushCo official reasons, then why was it OK to "cut and run" in 1983 when the Marine barracks were bombed and President Reagan (who would NEVER do something as low and unpatriotic as "cut and run") said "These MFs are f'ing crazy, let's get our guys out of that place" (in other words...."let's cut and run....this $hithole isn't worth it".

????????????????

Thanks Frank....looking forward to your response.

Peace,
D.

Because someone asked the following question to judge after he said that there are many federal programs that cost more than the war...
