Funny how some don't have ANY sense of humour. Go pull the sand out of your vagina.

A very enlightening post that adds much to the discussion. Thank you.

There is no need to go on incessantly about Obama. is he really worth discussing more than 5 minutes?
We know what he is about and are amazed that he can bamboozle others into supporting him and lets leave it at that. Millions of people believe in stupid things and support ignorant and wrongheaded leaders. This i not exclusive to the USA or any race...come on now! No need to go on about the guy...he is what he is and tons of posts on him are pointless. Unless it is to combat his voting record, policies or direct statements...give it a rest! - brickboy240

Sad thing is, it just goes to show that politicians from both sides of the aisle are elected by the power of the ignorant, uninformed American. It's just how the electoral process is set up. When the dust settles, the average Joe or Jane that votes will have only seen snippets of what the candidate is really about and bases his/her opinion on those snapshots of a much bigger picture. It's like choosing between a cold glass of Coke or Pepsi: both sound refreshing but in the end all we end up with are rotten teeth (metaphorically speaking), acid reflux, and a bad aftertaste no matter which one we choose.
I've only been able to vote in the last 2 presidential elections...here's to hoping that the choices will improve in the future...

I think the Internet has had a very positive effect on the political process. It is getting more people to "notice" what our leaders vote for and say and do every day. I never paid this much attention to politics before the 2004 election. The internet is the civic discourse that we had at one time and then lost. I just wish more people were interested.
