Why Repubs are superior to Dhims...

Sorry to have been away for a few but duty called.

Thought I would start things off with a contrast between the Repubs and Dhims:

Courtesy of Congressman Roy Blunt. He put together data to contrast the differences inpolicy between Republicans and Dhims on energy policy:
ANWR Exploration:
House Republicans: 91% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Coal-to-Liquid:
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 78% Opposed

Oil Shale Exploration:
House Republicans: 90% Supported
House Democrats: 86% Opposed

Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Exploration:
House Republicans: 81% Supported
House Democrats: 83% Opposed

Refinery Increased Capacity:
House Republicans: 97% Supported
House Democrats: 96% Opposed

SUMMARY
91% of House Republicans have historically voted to increase the production of American-made oil and gas.
86% of House Democrats have historically voted against increasing the production of American-made oil and gas.
It's useful to keep this sort of thing in mind when we hear (on something like a daily basis these days) that the Republicans have run out of ideas or that Republican ideas didn't work. The truth is that most major Republican ideas weren't tried because the Democrats blocked them. Increasing the domestic production of oil and gas (a move so obvious it barely meets the standard for being an idea) is hardly the only example. Social security reform and school choice also come quickly to mind. Republican-backed policies for increasing the number of Americans with health insurance were also blocked by Democrats. And so forth.

When I saw the subject title, I thought the list of reasons would be a lot longer than that. You were just touching on one small area out of many in which they are superior, correct?

A nice set of numbers.
They show proof of a Democratic agenda, or at the least, a trend that does not have the average citizens interests in mind as they vote.

__________
Of course, someone will most likely come along and say none of it is true without a source. So ... I'll beat them to the punch ... Got a link
Personally, I don't care to see it, but I expect an Obama supporter might.

They tell you they are not going to tax your family.
No, they’re just going to tax “businesses”! So unless you buy something from a “business”, like groceries or clothes or gasoline … or unless you get a paycheck from a big or a small “business”, don’t worry … it’s not going to affect you.

From what I've seen Judge has been keeping the Obama supporters pretty busy in other areas. Good job Judge!

Just curious ... were these stand alone issues or were these issues part of a larger picture?

Exploration my azz! We already know where the hell the oil and natural gas is. Start pumpin baby!

In addition, if Brazil can produce affordable ethanol from sugar cane then so can we. Besides, we all could probably use a little less sugar in our diet.

For the record, I have to say I agree with you this time, judge. As a result, I'll now have to go take a Comet and Brillo shower.

The only problem with the Brazil situation is the decimation of the rain forests for more planting area.
This presents it's own set of problems.

Granted, but don't we have enough available farmland already? We're already growing tons of sugarcane in Florida. Ethanol from sugarcane is supposed to yield 7 times the energy of ethanol from corn.
