Thanks, I'm working on that. Been on the other end of it lately, and it is annoying. Switchfoot is trying to focus more on quality than quantity!

I read all 11 pages of the original thread on PAFOA and it appears that a lawsuit is in the works and I'm not positive, but it has been recommended to the original poster to call and report the firearm as stolen since it was confiscated by the police without them issuing a receipt for it.

PAFOA is a pretty strong and well organized group with some good legal people in their ranks. They've overturned some bad rulings and had permits reinstated when improperly taken away.

One of their top guys in the legal world was recently detained and arrested while open-carrying for standing up for his rights and is involved in an ongoing case with legal action.

Quick note, An LE that does not know the laws he is paid to enforce should not be behind a badge.

Its only a choice where the governing body has decided to allow its citizens to have the choice. Here in Texas, we have yet to be given the choice to carry out in the open or concealed. Its either concealed or leave it at home. Don't ask me why, I don't know.

Yeah, if you really feel strongly about open carry then by all means open carry, but don't expect the police to be up to snuff on the law.

Everyone should at least join me on July 4th-6th for National Open Carry Day and Weekend if your state allows open carry.

Violated in Wilkes-Barre for open-carry!

My personal opinion is that unless you're in a relatively unpopulated area or engaging in apolitical speech (i.e. sports, weather, religion, etc), there's no good reason to publicly speak your mind.

What do you all think? Does free speech open up a can of worms?

Just my opinion, others may vary.
Very good point, but I stand by my decision that it's easier for me to carry concealed and have no one be the wiser than have to deal with all the stares; police visits (which I'm sure wouldn't take long on a day of running errands); and additional risk to your life (if you were in the wrong place at the wrong time--not to mention jumpy police because they know that you already have a gun).

I am just saying be glad that you have the choice in AZ, we don't get that. I think I will start just carrying a rifle like Lucas McCain, there is no rule against long guns here.

I'm game, but I'm not gonna make it to your state to participate

Side note for those who do OC:
Word of advise to any who live where this might be questioned by LE. Find the section that covers this in your State Constitution and keep it with you at all times.
If you have a run-in with an uninformed officer, ask them to look it up. Stand your ground, and be prepared to demand that you be arrested.
DO NOT LET THEM CONFISCATE YOUR FIREARM ... Especially if you know you are on the right side of the law.

I would have driven directly to the police station and filed a police report stating that my firearm had been stolen from my person.

I would also have asked to speak to the supervisor/patrol Sergeant on duty.

That is complete BS. That cop should be fired, or at the very least reprimanded for not knowing his local/state laws.
