I'm not sure which is more ludicrous: the people who write this crap or the people who believe it.
If there is any one characteristic that republicans have dialed and are 100% better at than Dem's it's fear mongering smear speeches and articles.

You've been pretty calm and rational lately Kev. IMO the yoyo comment was not required and added nothing to your post except an unnecessary insult.

It will always be easier for people to buy into conspiracy theories and well-researched "articles" such as this than to debate the ins and outs of policies that will actually affect our lives in the future. This type of thing smacks of McCarthyism and the anti-communist witch hunts of the same era. Oh, the commies had infiltrated every tier of government and were secretly brainwashing Americans to boot! It is nothing more than a tactic to smear without debating the people that have a different vision of where to take the country. By posting or believing in this drivel you have about as much credibility in my eyes as the people that think 9/11 was an inside job and the loonies on the corner standing around with sign reading: "the end is near!" Of course somewhere between 15-19% of Americans, mostly evangelicals believe that Jesus is returning to the earth this year. Not next year or the one after that but this year so go figure.
As to Bush and McCain. They are not the same person yet they share many of the same policies in the realms of national security and economics. McCain was a supporter of the invasion of Iraq, of the surge and of maintaining a presence there indefinitely until security and democracy can be instituted. All policies of the current president. McCain supports deficit spending and therefor increasing the national debt, which has also been a cornerstone of the Bush admin. So to me it doesn't track that McCain will have something much different to offer the country than Bush has had. The one area that I greatly delineate the policies of Bush and McCain is that McCain has been opposed from the beginning to the use of torture on foreign detainees and US citizens in Guantanamo and other locations. As someone who has actually undergone torture he understands not only how poor a method it is of information extraction but also that no great nation can partake in such a practice and still consider itself to be great. He does support warrant-less wiretapping of American citizens which is disconcerting to say the least. Also, something I have noticed in McCain's speeches is a paucity of information about what he actually wants to do. He spends more time attacking Obama than laying out any sort of plan for the country. What is he running on? "I'm not Obama" or "I am different than Bush but agree with all his policies except torture"? |

ZenMachine,
Can you tell me why I should not be afraid of Obama's stance on the issues he has been involved in ?? Please explain why I should trust someone who is not able to express his stance on issues. I really want to know what he is about, and his words seem to be empty and lacking substance. What little I know of, seems to be a very bad direction for this country. So can you calm my nerves and allow me to sleep better if he wins this election ??
