Fair Tax

Anyone have an opinion regarding "Fair Tax" to have a national sales tax rather than Federal Income Tax? If it is financially viable for the populace and funds the government I think it is a good idea. Whether or not it can not succeed in this mission I am not certain, but it is certainly an interesting and creative idea.

Anything that bankrupts accountants and law firms is ok by me. It'll stop the criminal deductions for the rich, corporate welfare, TIF zones, and it'll instantly obliterate a tax code which when printed and bound in volumes weighs about 75 lbs. It also eliminates non-equal taxing, and a very nasty amendment to the Constitution.
It'll eliminate the entire IRS, or roughly $75 billion in federal spending in the Tresury Department. There's a lot for both sides to like. I will be running for office at some point in the near future, and I will be supporting the fair tax.

I pretty much agree with the assessment ... But really, if you're serious ... Give us the details of your run for office!!
It would be very interesting to follow an XDr's atempt to attain any office position

75lbs. .... No wonder it's so confusing. I have trouble staying interested in a good book, and you're talking about what equates to ... Half of the Encyclopedia Britannica

Sounds like some good analysis about Fair Tax, it would seem to eliminate the current cumbersome tax code, and seems to be a more evolved idea than flat tax. Combined with a decent Tarrif (which is how the U.S. used to fund itself), it would seem to help stimulate a diversified and powerful economy again....

I try to be careful not to jump on any bandwagon before I know the facts, and allow experts to study it. Economics is a complicated science, and in the process of protecting private property and the capitalist system that has made America the envy of the world, we need to make sure we have looked at how such a dramatic change in our revenue generating system will affect the...What? did you say get rid of the IRS?

Hell yeah, sign me up! Why didn't you say so?

Learn to do a search. This was talked about quite extensively recently.

Learn to think before you spout off, you have been nothing but a rude jerk in pretty much every post you and I have had together. You don't own me, I am not your child, so in the vernacular of our UK friends across the pond, "Get stuffed."

Judging by your posts perhaps you need to think before posting. You seem to be adept at posting opinion and trying to present it as fact. A number of members have called you on it ... some more subtly than I (you haven't proved your astuteness at picking up on subtlety yet). IMO, if you are anything similar in real life to what you present yourself as on this forum ... well you are one scary cop.

You and I aren't going to get along. So long as your posts reflect your opinion I'll leave you be. So long as you present your opinion as if it were fact I'll be on you like you are on those kids at the mall you work at.

Friends?
