... but if he appointed Bill Richardson as his running mate, I might hate him slightly less. Bill Richardson is the lone pillar of intelligence jutting from a sea of Blue Ass party idiocy.

Proof he is not-so-****tarded as other Dems:
- He signed a CCW bill into law in his state

- His plan for immigration is simple: If illegals can learn English and pay their backed taxes and pass the normal test for citizenship, they are naturalized. If they don't, they can go to hell.

- His Health Care program requires the beneficiaries to pay for it -- rather than just get freebies. I'd rather have no such program but at least he's trying to make people accept some responsibility.

- Richardson can balance a check book. Like, on purpose. He knows that red numbers in his bank statement are not a good thing.

- He wants to kick "No Child Left Behind" in the balls. Everybody with a brain hates that program.

I'm not saying I'd vote for Obama just because his vice had a brain. I do have an inescapable requirement of TWO brains between the Pres and Vice... but still... I'd have to think for five minutes about it.

I have always thought that he has been pretty moderate, but he is a politician and I could easily seem him jutting far to the left to get the VP nod from Obama.

What's the likelihood that anything Bill Richardson supports or would like to initiate actually happens under Obama...unless Obama also supports it?

Not a risk I'm willing to take.

Obama would be smart (and i am not saying he is) to bring a guy with somewhat of a brain in as a VP, but he is so far left and and has such a desire for control, it would not make a difference past the general election.

In the same token. McCain would be smart to bringing Romney in a VP because that would solidify the base.

Senators are not accountable or responsible for anything, Governors are. Not many senators have ever been elected president. They lack executive experience which is what is needed in office.

If you had ever lived in a state with Bill Richardson, you would change your tune. Richardson is all about the Cult of Richardson. All highway restoration programs are called GRIP, or (Governor Richardson Improvement Programs), if you are his buddy he will take tax payer money and create an imaginary job for you at tax payer's expense. He says he is hard on immigration, however, he is softer than McCain in his actions. He actually ordered LEO's who were there to arrest illegal alien gang members out of the State Fair grounds because he didn't want any illegals arrested. They were not targeting simple illegal aliens, they were specifically looking for hardened criminal gang members to remove from the streets, because they always tend to congregate at state fairs to commit crimes on tourists. In the State Capital Santa Fe, if you are an LEO and you turn over an illegal to the government you will be summarily fired. Even the jails are afraid to turn over convicted hard core illegal aliens to the government for fear of reprisal. So, no Richardson is not great, he sucks.
