Maybe my post was written poorly. But, I would think it would be commonly assumed that Iraq would be devastated after being a war zone for five years. At one point in January of this year, the U.S. dropped 40,000 tons of bombs in a 10-minute period.

Here are some photos I just gathered from around the Web.

The fact that the bad guys choose to hide among the population is not our fault. In fact they do so in the hopes that innocents will be killed and that bleeding hearts such as Etta will cry just as she/he/it has done.

What Etta seems not to understand is that this enemy places NO value on human life.
Yes, I have never been in the military. I actually would like to visit Iraq firsthand and see what is going on.

Are you serious with that last photo? What, now bombing causes macrocephaly? Vision not good enough to recognize Photoshoping?

Here are some photos I've seen, that illustrate what creative camera work can do:

we don't have enough planes in our entire armed forces to drop 40,000 tons of bombs in 10 minutes. Please check your facts before posting such outlandish claims.

U.S. Planes Pound Area South of Baghdad
Huge Strike Aimed At Weapons Caches

Washington Post Foreign Service

BAGHDAD, Jan. 10 -- In the span of 10 minutes Thursday, American warplanes dropped as much explosive south of Baghdad as they usually do in a month, a thundering barrage of more than 40,000 pounds of bombs intended to blow up stashes of insurgent weapons.

My guess is that 40000 pounds of bombs = 40-80 bombs total. I notice that the writer chose not to list the number of bombs dropped but the weight of the weapons instead. Why in the world do you think they did that?

I didn't analyze the photo. I just grabbed what I immediately found.

There's plenty more!

Granted, some of the destruction is caused by insurgents and Iraqis fighting each other. But, if not for the U.S. invasion, these things would not be happening.

I'm not sure. It's well-known that the Washington Post is a "company town," establishment newspaper.

No, their children would still be in saddam's rape prisons, but these things would:

I'd rather be blowing up AQ there, than watching them blow up over here.

I'm sure there's plenty more from the blame America first crowd. And not only is "SOME" of the destruction caused by insurgents, MOST of it is. That's why the Sunni and Shia have in large measure turned to the US to help rid them of AQ - the Awakening. Go read about it, you'll hate it, b/c it puts the US in a good light, but you'll find it rather informative.
