The Clintons, Kentucky and Politics
First off, I do not have a dog in that
Democrat fight, but I do want to comment on Billy Jeff and his wife, KY and politics. I will start with the Friday session of the NRA Convention at about 5PM when McCain showed up and gave his speech to us. Then on Saturday around 11:30AM, I got an email from Emily of Maker's Mark which went out to Ambassadors here in KY. It announced that Sen. Clinton was going to be in Loretta (that's where MM is made) and invited us to drop our politics and come on down and enjoy a BarBQue with Hillary at 3:30PM. I like good BBQ, so my bud and I went to eat and listen. The food was good. Another call came in to me around noon today, and informed me that Billy Jeff was going to be here in our small burg and give a stump talk at 3:00PM today. It was an open affair, with Secret Service of course co-ordinating the security. The street was blocked off and traffic detoured while he stumped from the front porch of one of the finer and older mansion style homes around here. Of course I had to take a peek of the ex-prez. Billy Jeff met Hillary In Lex KY at Transy U. for a 7:00PM rally, then off to the same convention hall in L-ville that McCain and the NRA were at for the last three days for a 9:00PM rally in Louisville. They do plan on being around for the primary tomorrow and stay over to watch the results. All in all, the Commonwealth of Kentucky has really been treated well by having all the politicos and national attention given to us. I've enjoyed it all by being a small part of it by just being there and here. Onward to the General Election in November! Ed Last edited by Ed Ely; 05-19-2008 at 08:15 PM. |
