Our government is doing a good job at one of the few things the Constitution grants it the power to do: killing people who want to kill me. except osama bin laden, you know, the one that really DID try to kill you. That aside, there is a mountain of things the federal government has NO business being involved in..........they could do a better job by ceasing, immediately.

No society is without flaws. But our form of government, a constitutional republic, is the best thing that has ever happened to anybody, anywhere. so there is no reason to make it better. period. no matter what happens here is best. even if we're a socialist shill someday, like england, or slip into deep fascism like germany, 'its still better here'. Where would you rather live...........? Are there any flights leaving today ?

So you are comparing Etta to Patrick Henry? . That is kinda funny to me. Nothing very liberal about Patrick Henry. I don't believe he would favor higher taxes to support socially expedient programs like welfare, affirmative action, and the like. I think that a liberal view is at least partially at fault for our prison numbers bieng so high. But only in that those views have a hard time making the punishment fit the crime. They make a stay in our prison system somewhat equivalent to that of a bad resort, and manage to argue the point that our capital punishment system (particularly lethal injection) is cruel and unusual. One might say that it is among the most humane ways to execute someone compared to other countries in the world. Did anyone think to ask the relatives of the victim if their loved one's untimely murder was cruel and unusual?

The biggest problem with the justice system is that its far too easy on the criminals. Make the punishment fit the crime. Make a stay in our prison system so bad that you never ever want to go back.
