Please spare me the part about how he ruined innocent people's lives and careers....it didn't happen.

You admiringly quote a Nazi, and I am not supposed to notice ?

As for Etta, I'm not trying to stop her from droning on and on with her anti-American nonsense (that would be un-American).....I'm just pointing out, again, (you can't really be this dense), that what she posts (trying not to shout here) is almost always anti-American in it's tone and content.

And you brought up Ann.....sweet, lovable Ann...............
Care to back that up with facts, other than the one opinion based book you mentioned?

Care to name a single (that would be just one) person, named by McCarthy and his panel, who was not a communist party member or communist sympathizer while in the employ of the federal government ? Please try to keep in mind that McCarthy was concerned about the infiltration of our government by people who wished to see it fail. If you are worried about actors, screenwriters and other panty-waists being blacklisted (blacklisted by themselves, I should add) in the 50's, please direct your attention to the House Un-American Activities Committee. Repeat after me: Senator McCarthy.....House Un-American Activities Committee. HUAC began in the 30's and lasted to the early 70's, I believe. McCarthy began his investigations in 1950.

Mr. Evans' book is bristling with facts....it is far from an opinion piece.

Well, that changes EVERYTHING!!!!

I was not aware you could "assure" me of what I think. I feel so much more settled and at peace now.

I feel "assured".

Normally, I would do as XD9Convert did........ask if you've got any facts.

But not this time. Since you've already not only assured me about what I think, (and how I'm 99% wrong), but you've also proved your point by telling us that in your opinion of someone else's opinion that "bristles with facts" it all adds up to makes things as you believe them to be.

I cannot "debate" such infallible logic.

As an aside: I saw the McCarthy hearings on television as they were happening. Did you?

I was very young, but old enough to understand the tactic of guilt by insinuation.

It's no surprise that you "love" "Sweet Lovable" Ann Coulter. And like her, hold McCarthy in great esteem.

Peace,
D.

So everyone that loves their country should be required to fight? Screw those of us who continue to support our troops from home and this countries infrastructure by working.

Anyhow.

All this talk of anti American is kind of fun.

I don't typically agree with Etta on anything ever.
But just because she has different viewpoints doesn't mean she is a commie.

We should be thankful for her posts. Not because we love them so much... but because it is part of what makes this country so great.

I still can't seem to get you to state what your actual point is regarding my military service.....we've established that I have not served in the military. We've established that, if called to fight for my country, I would (unlike Etta, for example).

Do you hold the idiotic belief that the only true and patriotic Americans are those who have served in the military? You post a lot of silly stuff, but you can't actually believe that, do you ??

You seem to be confused about the difference between facts and opinions. Does that ever hamper your top-notch debating skills ?

No sillier than the accusations you make toward those that don't embrace your views...Think about it.

We are at war...The call has been made. The recruiting station is right down the road.

Etta is not waving the battle flag from the relative safety of her computer.

So you do think that only those who serve in the military qualify as true Americans. That really is much sillier than anything I could come up with.

Etta's words say so much more about her disdain for her own country than any "accusation" I could make. I'm just pointing it out.

I believe we still have an all-volunteer military force...the best in the world. Trust me, the recruiters are not interested in me....yet. I can do plenty to support our fighting men and women from right here, beginning with not ripping my country a new one every time I turn on my computer.

How did you see my flag ?????
