Would it be too much to ask for a politicial choice that is a little detail oriented and not a bafoon.

I mean it's really crappy that the best we can hope for is another 4 year Bush impersonation. What we need are solutions not more stagnation. [/rant]

I know that in my case when I found out my wife had cancer, my hair started going gray immediately. From zero gray hair to noticeable in maybe a couple of weeks.....she was ill for less than 6 months until she died. That was at the end of 1995, so 12.5 years ago. My hair has not gotten any more gray since (at least I like to tell myself that)....Still mostly blond, but pretty gray around the sideburns. (I think that's the way it goes for most men). My beard was graying in my 20s, but not a single gray hair on my head until I was just shy of 50...

I look at Bush (GW) and see how much he's aged, and I wonder what is stressful to him????

....Clinton worked (at whatever) for a zillion hours a week, and his hair turned white. Carter aged noticeably in just about every way after one term (although he's still physically active today).

Same with Ford.

Nixon not so much....guess not having a conscience helps reduce stress.

Reagan didn't seem to age a lot considering his initial age....maybe they died his hair...the guy never got gray which I doubt is natural for someone 80 years old or whatever he was....nice to be able to be left to sleep peacefully while the staff takes care of business (IIRC they didn't even wake him to tell him that we attacked Tripoli).

LBJ certainly aged in his 5 years....

Ike had no hair, so no hint on hair color, but he did have a few heart attacks while on the job.

Bush 41 seemed to hold up pretty well.....I think he was in extraordinary shape when he took office...still is for a guy his age. Barbara Bush seemed to age for the both of them.

Before Ike...that was before my memory (or birth) allows me to remember.

Scary to think what Ted Kennedy might have looked like if he ever had the responsibilities that go with the presidency.

JFK didn't seem to physically age much, but it was less than 3 years in office and was very young when elected....and despite his bad back and whatever other ailments, he stayed active. Lot's of sex probably helped.

Bobby Kennedy probably would have been like Bush 41....kept himself in great shape (and a whole lot younger to start with if he'd have made it to the Oval Office in 196. Although waking up each morning and seeing Ethyl....that could age Methuselah. I actually skied with her one time...boy, she was a scary looking woman, which was weird since it's safe to assume that at one time she was probably nice looking. But my guess is she had far more stress in her life than just about any woman I can think of (when we skied it was about 7 or 8 years after Bobby was murdered).

Peace,
D.
There's also all the kids. That would wear out any woman. They were a good Catholic family!

Certainly a good part of the stress I was referring to.

I remember that before RFK was killed, his (typically right wing) kind-hearted critics used to chant "Tie Ethyl's Tubes!".....I don't think I heard anything quite so mean-spirited until Rush Limbaugh called Chelsea Clinton the "family dog" when she was twelve years old or so. It was that comment that nauseated me enough to not be able to even tolerate the sound of his voice. (The "put all drug abusers in prison" was just icing on the cake after his "do what I say, not what I do" proof of pathological hypocrisy).

That we have self-proclaimed "proud ditto-heads" here (or anywhere) is amazing to me. I think a lot of people, myself included, have done and said things we are not proud of. But IMO, there's a line of decency that isn't just a "line in the sand", but a 20 foot high, barbed wire, high voltage electrified fence.

Calling a young innocent child....especially a girl at such an awkward age (for any kid) who is in the public eye though no doing or choice of her own is beyond scaling that fence...it's more like going through it with a formation of tanks.....And to express zero remorse or regret....only Rush Limbaugh seems capable as a human being. (Probably giving him too much benefit of the doubt as to his species).

The people who idolize this guy....."Typical White Persons".....I'd like to know "typical" in what world?

Sorry for going obviously off topic here. But while I have fun arguing and "debating" here (what this forum is for), I'd say it's very close to impossible to get my blood "boiling"....but this is an exception. (proves the rule?) LOL

We now return to our regularly scheduled nonsense.

Ready camera five; camera three, fade to black, camera 5!

Peace,
