Question for the Long Time PV'ers
The moderators are definitely keeping on their toes here. I am quite impressed with how rapidly a recent thread was locked. From inception to lock down, it took only 49 minutes till our moderator Mr. Ely shut her down.
Is 49 minutes the record?

There have been threads that were deleted FAR quicker if I recall, both here and in the Chatterbox.

A reduction of these might be prudent.

Yep, the truly quick ones typically aren't around for anyone to see after the fact. As Gunny Swagger says, "That's because most of the longest shots aren't confirmed because they go places nobody wants to go for confirmation."

You can always tell when a poster has run out of logic or proof in his argument: he resorts to personal attacks that will get him banned or thread locked.
...or, the person resorts to the usual one-liner bumper sticker phrases. The mods are very good at shuttign down the nonsense if you ask me. Howver, don't let someone goad you into a pointless argument...its simply a waste of time and bandwidth if you ask me. - brickboy240

After I learned everything there is to know about XD's, the PV kept me interested. If it went away I would likely go with it. For all the mud slinging and finger pointing that goes on, once in a while this place breaks out in reasonable and thoughtful dialogue and I enjoy reading the posts, even though at this point I can practically predict who will say what.
I see people come in here with both barrels blazing, claiming to be all-knowing of the truth, defenders of all things conservative that try to kick ass and take names, gonna weed out the "liberals" etc., and once they figure out that garbage doesn't play well here they either leave in disgust or learn to play like the rest of the pack does. First and foremost, we all love guns. That's why we're here. For all our philosophical differences, we started on common ground. If there is ever a major influx of forum gorrillas in the PV I predict it will get shut down again. I give the mods credit for restraint, we get to say more here than most places will allow. But everyone has their tipping point. I believe I'm going to tip back a beer now. |
